Great views and excellent staff. Transportation to/from main train very easy on public transit. Easy walks to Old Town. If you want to eat dinner at hotel Resturant, make reservation a few days in advance.

This was the most unique, elegant property - a historic castle with all of the modern amenities. We received a bowl of fresh fruit and a beautiful bottle of wine. Mini bar and breakfast were also included. While located up in the mountain, the cable car made it easy to get in and out of the city very easy adn walkable. And best of all, the views of Lucerne from our terrace were breathtaking. Amazing stay!

The Chateau Gutsch was fantastic. The food was incredible, the views were amazing and the room comfortable. Our only complaint was the temperature of the room as the hotel has no air conditioning and it was about 80 degrees in the room. Fortunately, they provided us with an extra fan and we slept with the doors open to help cool us down. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel but needs updated. The room was very spacious. The TV only had english CNN and BBC news channel. No other english channels which was dissappointing. Very helpful staff throughout the hotel.

Absolutely stunning historic part of Luzerne. We stayed in the Victoria Suite and it was magical. The staff is so friendly. Views are amazing!! The only negative is it is a journey to get up (vehicular elevator and steps) but absolutely worth it.

Overall, the experience of staying at Chateau Guetsch was amazing. You can't beat the view on the lower patio for breakfast in the morning, overlooking the city as the sun rises above the swiss alps. It's truly an incredible start to the day. Then, at night, you close out your day with a drink at the bar sitting on the upper patio as the city lights turn on during sunset. The history, unique feel, and modern updates make it a really special place. With that in mind, a few things that I wish we were made aware of prior to our stay... 1) The hotel doesn't do a great job of informing guests how to get there on arrival, it would be great if there was a step-by-step guide with pictures to help you out - whether you are coming from the train station, car, bus etc. We found it day 1, but it was pretty inconvenient. With two large bags, we fortunately were able to carry those in the places where there is no elevator or escalator. 2) Lucerne feels incredible safe, it's an amazing city and must see place if you are traveling to Switzerland for the first time. The only dodgy area we experienced unfortunately was right by the hotel, where you have to jump on a funicular/tram to get up to the hotel. We actually changed our walking direction the second night because we felt unsafe a few blocks from the hotel. If you go to Lucerne, you must do the Mt. Pilatus adventure, and do the round trip. i.e. Gondola, Cableway, Cogwheel, and Boat. Unreal experience, truly amazing.

We HIGHLY recommend staying at Chateau Gütsch! It is probably one of the most unique hotel stays I have experienced: It sits atop one of the highest hills in the area and there is even a little train car that can take you up to the property. Staying here feels like you're actually staying at someone's residence - it feels like a luxurious home vs. an impersonal hotel. The place is a balanced mix of old and new, the staff are absolutely wonderful and the breakfast is fantastic! It is also situated perfectly - just take the train car down to the street level and you will be within walking distance of Old Town. The cherry on top of the cake? The phenomenal view from the hotel! Unbeatable.

If you are looking for a beautifully kept, boutique hotel with amazing service look to father. The front desk staff is wonderful. Free welcome drink on arrival. Beautiful restaurant, bar, and rooms. Breakfast is an added fee but WORTH IT. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. If you are a couple looking for a romantic place to stay, you have found it.

What a wonderful stay we had at Château Gutsch! Our room was wonderful, amazing view! Our room included breakfast, everything in the mini bar was included and they provided us with bus passes. The value for what we received was fantastic! The breakfast buffet was so great with tons of options and high quality!

This place is magical. Beautifully restored, nestled right into the moutains, you feel like you're staying in a castle. The views are incredible, rooms comfortable, and staff very helpful. The bar is gorgeous and the bar manager was great. Tram down to town is super easy and very charming. Would definitely stay again.

What a dream! This place is a MUST if you are staying in Lucerne, getting to town is super easy as the hotel has a tram that brings you down to the city in 2 minutes! The views can't be beat. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the restaurant is world-class and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The lounge next to the lobby is an excellent place to unwind at the end of a day of walking the beautiful streets of Lucerne and enjoy a night cap. 11/10 can't wait to go back!

Very beautiful place. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. We got a room upgrade which was very appreciated. We came with a 7 months old baby and the hotel did everything to make our stay comfortable. We recommend
