We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Kusum. It is even more beautiful than the pictures – a gorgeous, charming colonial house full of character, with a beautiful turquoise swimming pool right by the beach.
The location was perfect for us. It was lovely and peaceful, and we could walk along the beach to a quieter area where we swam with sea turtles, which was one of the highlights of our time in Sri Lanka.
The host was incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming, and made us feel completely at home. I honestly fell in love with this place and only wish we could have stayed longer than three nights. It felt like our little piece of paradise in Hikkaduwa.
We would definitely stay here again and hope to come back one day. Highly recommended!

Sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Besitzer.
Das Hotel ist ein bisschen abgegriffen, aber mit viel Charme. Ich hatte ein schönes, großes Zimmer mit Balkon und einem wunderschönen Blick aufs Meer.
Das Frühstück konnte ich spontan und individuell bestellen. Einfach aber gut mit Ei und Obst für mich☺️
Die Lage ist ein bisschen abseits, aber wenn man einen kleinen Spaziergang am Meer oder an den Geschäften entlang mag, ist man recht schnell im Stadtkern.

To be clear: not a complaint. The bathroom in the first room we got did not work but they solved It immediately by leading us to the attic room. No problem at all.

Piękny kolonialny budynek, który sam w sobie jest historią. Przyjemnie się w takim śpi, łóżko jest wygodne a pokój klimatyczny. Super działająca klimatyzacja, piękna ceramika w której kupujesz kawe, oraz cudowny widok na ocean i palmy.
Podczas naszego pobytu był tylko jeden pracownik. Młody chłopak. Był miły i pomocny. Ale dość kiepsko mówił po angielsku. Udogodnienia które są podane, tak naprawdę nie istnieją. Spa nie istnieje. Menu jest piękne i bogate, ale co z tego, jak nic nie mogłem sobie zamówić. Do tego stopnia. Że nawet nie mogłem zamówić cappuccino ( w menu była taka opcja). Dostalem zwykłą zalewajkę z mlekiem, ale za to w pięknej ceramice. Nauczcie chociaż tego chłopaka obsługi ekspresu do kawy... to podstawa... tak samo chciałem z dziewczyną napić się drinków, ale nie było. Było tylko piwo lion, i sok ananasowy lub z guawy. Chcieliśmy zjeść tam kolacje, ale okazało się, że kuchnia ,,nie działa,, bo nie ma szefa kuchni a młody chłopak co chwile dzwonił do szefa o coś się spytać. Tak samo na śniadaniu. Zamiast dobrego śniadania takiego jak widziałem na zdjęciach u innych - dostaliśmy kiepski omlet i tosty. To wszystko. Nie było żadnego wyboru, bo nie było ,,szefa,,. Za hotel Chcieliśmy zapłacić kartą, a na zajutrz się dowiedziałem, że jest problem z terminalem i musieliśmy gotówką. Nie winię tutaj tego młodego chłopaka bo on się starał, ale sam nie ogarnął tego. Sam pracuje w hotelu i rozumiem, że jest poza sezonem, więc mniej osób potrzebnych do pracy ale wiem, że nie może być jedna osoba od wszystkiego. Poza tym no nie może być taka sytuacja, że płacę normalnie za pokój ze śniadaniem, ale mamy jakiegoś pecha że akurat nie ma szefa i za tą samą cenę dostajemy 50% gorszy, skromniejszy i okrojony standard w porównaniu do reszty gości, którym się poszczęściło, bo akurat wtedy szef był i dostali dobre śniadanie i mieli szansę skorzystać z innych udogodnień.
