It's location was great for us, across the road from the beach.
The beautiful garden created a calm, peaceful place to relax and the pool was very good. Janaka and his small team were really welcoming and helpful, if we asked for something it was provided quickly.
Additional benefits were their two dogs, Milo who was very timid, and Bomi who loved playing with his tennis ball around the pool and included you in his game over dropping it into the pool then throwing it for him.
We know Hikkaduwa very well and have stayed in lots of places and Thambili was a very pleasant surprise.
We will be back👍
Nothing wrong with Thambili. It is located between the main road and the railway line, which we initially were concerned about, but really it wasn't so bad for us and as we're early risers, the early morning trains weren't a problem. To be honest, you can hear the railway from just about anywhere - even from the more expensive hotels along the road if you aren't staying in a beach side room.

Thambili Cabanas is a beautifully maintained place with a lovely garden full of flowers and friendly dogs, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is very professional, and the staff are kind, attentive, and always helpful.
The welcome was truly amazing. Being served fresh coconut water as a welcome drink was both beautiful and refreshing, setting the tone for the stay.
The place is extremely peaceful and ideal for yoga. They have dedicated yoga rooms and provide yoga mats, which makes it perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind.
They do not serve breakfast at the property, but this was not an issue as there are many good places to eat nearby. They also have their own beach cafe, Thambili Cafe, which is another beautiful spot with a relaxing beachside setup and delicious food. The cafe is only about a 5 minute walk from the cabanas.
Overall, it is a calm, well-managed place that I would highly recommend for a peaceful getaway.
