Built in 1893 by the afamed architect Norman Shaw, this stunning fully renovated 6 bedroom, 8 bathroom house would keep any group occupied, with a pub style games room (with full size snooker table bar), cinema room, outdoor covered pool(available May- August), out door hot tub (available May-August) indoor spa (with steam room and jacuzzi, available throughout the year), gym, a chef's dream kitchen, library, and more, your every desire is catered to at Cleugh Manor. There is now also a tennis court (available May- August). If the house isn't enough to keep one occupied, the Manor is ideally situated on extensive grounds which adjoin the reservoir within Kielder Forest, one of Europe's largest forests and National Parks. Ideal for nature lovers and outdoor pursuits, golf, fishing, hiking, and zip lining, only name a few of the activities available close by. Cleugh Manor is also at the heart of countless sites to see both in Scotland and England as a border property smack in-between Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Edinburgh. Fabulous property. With definite wow factor, Loads outdoor seating, lovely pool, (some hooks for towels would be good). Indoor and outdoor hot tubs lovely, ( note indoor one is up a spiral staircase, step to get in would be useful)Great 6 burner range cooker, with 2 ovens( note no oven shelves). 2 electric ovens also plus microwave. Kitchen extremely well stocked with every utensil and gadget you could want. Great prep space. Undercounter fridge plus upright seperate fridge and freezer. Plus another tall fridge/ freezer in top floor kitchen, with another sink, cooker and microwave. Lovely comfy beds ( note some duvets and mattress toppers are feather). Jacuzzi bath in Queens room out of order. Twin room no wardrobe, king room wardrobe locked. Steam room put of order. Dinning table seats 12 ( just). Lawn and gardens lovely, tennis court has lots tree debris ( difficult to avoid). Toiletries in rooms on arrival some were half used. Gates were closed on arrival, Paul drove up to meet us as buzzer system doesn't seem to work. Our tour round was great, Paul was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall cleanliness excellent but was some used false nails on bathroom cupboard in Queens. Communication after booking was not great, took long time to get response to messages. However we,d love to return as property has such great facilities and space and lovely location. A real destination house.

There had been a mix up with the cleaners and the house had not been cleaned before we arrived, but the local guys did their best, and it wasn’t a massive problem. The cleaners came the next morning. It’s a great place for a big family get together, with lots of things to keep both children and adults happy.

The house is lovely but we had a few issues while we were away. The fridge was not cooling and was actually warming the food resulting in a lot of our food having to be binned, including the meat for our new years day dinner. We couldnt get the jacuzzi bath or shower with jets to work and there was a bad smell in the downstairs toilet. The website says there is an EV charger which we couldnt find, we text the emergency number to ask but didnt get a response. We did have a good time and the house is lovely but I am disappointed to have contacted the host after leaving to make them aware of these issues and get no response at all. I would like to hope that these issues, especially the fridge would be fixed for future guests. Thanks
