Burcott Mill is a real gem for anyone wishing to stay in this area. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived and our room was clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed and guests are welcome to use a sitting area or the garden. The breakfast was the best we've had for a long time including home baked bread made from flour from their own working watermill. There are a couple of pubs in Wookey village which make reasonable food, and Wells is a 5-10 minute drive away.
The shower cubicle in our room was a bit small and the door had a minor leak issue.

We were welcomed by the owner Louise & shown to our room in the hayloft which was beautiful & tastefully decorated. Breakfast was amazing & so much choice. The house is a short distance from Wells in a place called Wookey & Louise has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We had our evening meal in the pub directly across the road. We would highly recommend the Burcott Mill Guesthouse

The whole experience: the room was very good, the location very convenient for visiting Wells, Wookey Hole etc, the breakfast was excellent with a good range of cooked alternatives, the homemade bread and local jams. Louise was very personable and helpful. For me the sense of history was profound - this mill has been operating, on and off and now, since before it was listed in the doomsday book!
There was nothing we didn't like, though some of the stairs may be a problem for some guests with disabilities.
