Mike and Barb are the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. They are so very kind and have advice on everything you could want or need during your stay - outdoors, places to eat, birds, where to go for well fitting shoes of yours fall apart - you name it.
The Boat House is spacious and spotlessly clean and we were brought our delicious breakfast every morning.
Watching the quails, pues la and tui amongst other birds in the garden was lovely.
The weather was too bad to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing when we were here but we would absolutely recommend this B&B as a base for your Tongariro adventures.

We stayed in the Boat House and it was exceptional. The room was big and light, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were good. The breakfast was healthy and tasty. On two days we ate breakfast on the patio overlooking the pretty garden.
The hosts were very welcoming, informative and helpful.
The shuttle to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing was smooth and easy. The lakeside for kayaking, swimming and paddling was just 100m away.
