A beautiful, roomy lodge amidst rolling hills and gorgeous scenery. Perfect for a large group, with plenty of space to enjoy time together or be alone. Wonderful amenities outside to take advantage of. The host and ranch hand are very accommodating. Many of our large group commented that this is the best venue we’ve had yet for our biannual family reunion!

The location is truly beautiful. The lodge has tons of space. Wonderful spot for our large group who were there for a yoga retreat!

We had an incredible time at the Brixen Ivy Ranch and highly recommend it for a large gathering. We had 20 people stay there and had plenty of room, 10 adults and 10 kids. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The owners were very easy to work with and even gave some great buggy rides to feed the animals across their 300 acres of property. It has everything you need for a getaway to celebrate a family gathering and we celebrated a 75th birthday. Highlights were the golf course, owners club access, all kinds of farm animals, gorgeous views, buggy rides, gorgeous areas for family pictures, plenty of gathering space, fire pits, swim spa, golfing at Eagle Ridge, basketball courts and trails. Would highly recommend this place and location. Mark was such a big help with access to everything. It was an incredible family trip!

This property was perfect for our family of 28. There was space to spread out but yet it was warm and iinviting. We had a great time.

We loved Brixen-Ivy! We had 30 family members travel to the Galena area from all over the country for a 5-night family reunion at the ranch. We reserved the Main Lodge and the Sunset Cottage. They were the perfect accommodations for our group. We loved all the open spaces for visiting, cooking, eating, and having fun. Plus, the baseball diamond, goats, horses, turkeys, and peacocks make it an extra special destination. In addition to the great spaces for gathering, there is also plenty of privacy with ample bedrooms and bathrooms. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were! The houses were very clean. Our family has been gathering for reunions every 3 years for the last 22 years – each time in a different area of the country. We all agreed that our stay at Brixen-Ivy stands out as one of our best reunions, ever.

Overall, plenty of space for everyone and everyone enjoyed the views and would recommend to anyone.

We had a group of 17 8th graders and 4 adults for a Sunday-Tuesday trip. The house and property were amazing! The kids loved all the space they had to roam and explore. They enjoyed the small baseball field, the hot tub, fishing, and campfires. The ranch hand Joe was really nice. The only complaint the group had was that the owner just kept popping into the house whenever he felt like it? The adults thought that was really odd and were very uncomfortable about it. There was no knocking and asking to come in, he would just walk in the house randomly. He also charged one of the adults for the use of the hot tub when we had already paid for the hot tub. I did reach out to him to get that refunded and expect that it was just an oversight that he didn't realize we had already paid. He had seemed very pleasant leading up to the trip and was always very responsive with any questions that I had. I'm guessing he was just a little nervous with that many young adults being in the house and wanted to keep checking in, but knocking would have gone a long way to make them all feel more comfortable.

Perfect gathering place for multiple families. Plenty of space for everyone.

The home was an amazing architectural marvel! It fit the property to a “T”! It was spacious and well suited for our group! There was plenty of room for everyone….the bedrooms were large and the majority of them had en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen made large meals so easy. The huge fireplace was the perfect place to gather for our gift exchange and our family “round tables”! We can’t wait to come back in the summer, rent 3 of the houses available and enjoy the animals and outdoor amenities!

This property is so beautiful. It's exactly what we expected and we had so much room! The owner and the ranch hand were both present and super helpful. The kitchen was big enough for a lot of prep, but there were also 2 other kitchens if we had needed them. The animals, fire pit, and amazing views were icing on the cake! We will definitely visit again if we get the chance! Thanks Mark and Joe!

Beautiful property and house is huge! We walked the property and the kids loved the animals. There were very rustic wooden beams throughout the house which added extra character. Weather was great and we had a wonderful celebration!

This property worked out extremely well for our family. We enjoyed hiking on the property. We rented the main lodge and the sunset cottage. Main lodge was well maintained and clean. The sunset cottage is a little rustic, but was clean and comfortable. Hosts were accommodating during our stay and responded quickly to a few small requests we had. Would stay here again.

My family and I stayed at the brixen ranch house. We had a wonderful time. The pictures and exactly as described and more. The house is HUGE and beautiful. It was so peaceful. Mark even took me and the family around to show us the land and the animals. Mark/Joe were the best host. I highly recommend this house. We will definitely be back again.

Our family of 30 people included adults, teens, toddlers and infants and the property fit us all very comfortably! The property itself is in a wonderful area and it’s very easy to get to. I wasn’t able to do the check in as planned, so Mark, the owner, worked with someone else in my family and they had no issues as all. Joe, the ranch hand, was also great and very helpful throughout our stay. There were only a few things we wish would have been better. 1. Some of the landscaping and plants on the property were really overgrown and seemed like they should have been cleaned up before large groups arrive. Particularly at the sunset cottage, there was an overgrown plant that was partially covering the stairs we needed to use to get up to the main lodge. The side stairs going to the back of the cottage also had been overgrown and we didn’t feel safe using those. This could have just been during our stay, but would recommend for areas with stairs specifically to be cleared for people to use. 2. Mark was a wonderful host and I don’t want to take away from that, but there were a few times he just popped into the lodge and we weren’t aware he was going to be stopping in. I would just recommend knocking before entering just to allow people inside the lodge to know that someone is coming in. Especially with such a large group that included a lot of children, we would have just appreciated a little knock to know that someone else was entering. The other times we asked for help specifically, Mark or Joe were available quickly which was appreciated. 3. We had some shortages of kitchen supplies, but this is really easily fixed. We had to request crockpots to be delivered to the lodge, they aren’t readily available like other kitchen equipment. We also didn’t have enough forks in the main kitchen upstairs, so we had to borrow forks from the downstairs kitchen and still didn’t have enough so we had to wash extras when people were finished eating. I would recommend bringing backup silverware or just know that there aren’t quite enough to feed 20+ people at once. Again, not a big deal, just something I wanted to note for larger groups. Overall we had a really great stay and would recommend the property. Mark and Joe showed many people in our family around the ranch on the UTV which was really nice. The rooms were beautiful and our group had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy.

For chicagoans or anyone really this property is just such a welcomed retreat. The owners keep the property in tip top shape. This is now my second trip there in 6 months and I am already looking forward to my third. Take a chance and give this place a shot. You will NOT be disappointed

The pictures for the main lodge set my expectations pretty high but I can honestly say the property exceeded them wildly. I’ll be coming back very soon to enjoy this again in warmer weather. Thank you to Mark and Joe for being extra communicative and very easy to work with. To those wondering this property is worth every penny

We had a wonderful time at the house. The kids had a great time feeding the horses, sledding and playing in the game room. The adults made their own fun.

We had awesome time for our stay. Place is nicely maintained and property manager was there to great us and took some of us for ranch visit. I would go there again and many of us from group asking to go there again in spring.

I had an amazing time with my stay at Brixen Ivy Ranch. The place itself is so euphoric and peaceful. I used this weekend to recharge-renew and get back to basics regardless of what the world is experiencing. As a collective group of people we all should utilize areas such as this beautiful ranch to just get in touch with what really matters: family, friends, love and GoD. I cannot describe the amazing feeling this place gave me and those I stayed with. We had warmth and togetherness and the ranch help us create this environment. The owners (Mark and Lyza) are hospitable, polite and inviting -and getting what I needed for my time there was achieved. Thankful! Highly recommended.
