About this house rental
Situated in Manasota Key, this attractive house for $250 per night is a great choice for your next break. Enjoy your own private home right on the Gulf. There are two buildings on the property. The Main House is a 2/2.5 and the VRBO #923682. This unit is a 2/1 rental unit and is on the top floor of a 2 story Carriage/Guest House. The bottom unit is a 1/1, VRBO #895527. It has gorgeous views of the Gulf from several windows. The Master Bedroom has a king bed and the 2nd Bedroom has a queen bed. There is a full bathroom with a double sink, tub/shower combo, new cabinets, mirrors, lighting and tile. There is a fully stocked kitchen with NEW stainless steel appliances (dishwasher, fridge, microwave, stove, range), granite counter tops, cabinets and porcelain tile. The dining area has a table and 4 chairs and 2 folding chairs for more guests. The living area has a queen sleeper sofa. (sleeps 6) There is a screened gulf front patio with spectacular, panoramic, unobstructed, pristine views of the Gulf of Mexico. The unit overlooks the gulf and offers a serene setting with waves crashing onto the rocks just steps from your door. We also have a 1 bedroom/1 bath bottom apt. that is now available to rent. It is VRBO # 895527 Manasota Key is known for its lush vegetation and white sandy beaches just off the coast of Englewood. Kayaking, jet skiing, snorkeling, parasailing and various other activities are available on this quaint island. Its location is within comfortable driving distance to Sarasota, Tampa, and Fort Myers. Sarasota airport is closest (45 mins.) Fort Meyers airport is an hour and 20 mins. Tampa airport is an hour and 40 mins. Sarasota and Tampa have the best car rental rates. NO NEED TO LUG MAJOR ITEMS TO THIS UNIT. Beach umbrellas and chairs are free to take to the public beaches. We have plenty of beach towels and coolers as well and pretty much anything you'll need to make a day at the beach comfortable. Just ASK before you come to see if we have it! The left side of our property has been unofficially designated as our "renters area." We have provided a patio table, 6 chairs and a large umbrella for dining, 4 comfortable lounge chairs, additional umbrellas if needed and a fire-pit. There are also a couple of benches and a couch overlooking the water for sunset relaxation. The right side of our property is designated for owner activities please :) We can also arrange travel to and from local restaurants for a minimal fee if you wish to drink and not drive. Smoking outside only. Pets negotiable.

We absolutely loved our two weeks stay at Cottages By The Sea in Englewood.
Our hosts, Fran and Fred went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we would need. We were so surprised when we opened the frig to fine a nice bottle of Champagne that they left for us to enjoy on our 50th Wedding Anniversary!
We walked miles and miles every day and found all kinds of shells and tons of shark's teeth, over 600 shark's teeth in total!!!
We went to the Dearborn Street market on both Thursdays while we were there which was AWESOME.
So much to do in this cool community. We loved that Englewood is such a dog friendly community too.
We met so many people from all over the USA and a family who were visiting from France too!! We will definitely be back for another stay here!!!

This property is fantastic!! The pictures do not do it justice. Ocean and beach are 50 feet from the patio. Best ocean front I have stayed in. Apartment was clean had everything we could have needed. We just did a girls weekend but would defiantly come back for longer!! Francine was very nice and answered all questions. Highly recommend!!!

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed in the unit since 2009 - with a different owner each time. It gets better every time! Furniture and master bed are comfy and kitchen is very well stocked. The beach is perfection - beautiful old Florida. We ate at Lock and Key and drove to Venice to Captain Eddie’s. Both are wonderful. Francine is a gracious host and met us at check in to give us a tour. We’ll definitely be back!

I've been looking for a new place since my usual on Sanibel was destroyed by Ian. This one is just about as quiet and the unit is even closer to the beach. I'm thrilled and will go back. I debated not giving a good review because that means I'll have more competition when I want to return, but Francine is so wonderful, I couldn't do it.

This is our second stay here. We loved the first stay in ‘21 and we loved the second stay in ‘23. It’s a perfect location as you are steps from the beach. It’s easy to access all the great things Manasota and Englewood have to offer as well

We really missed the trees. They are still in the photo but the storm a year ago destroyed the look and feel of this spot. Overall the place could use some updating but all was functional. This was our third visit. It was a good time. The weather and beach was beautiful.

Very nice! Very short walk to beach, baby turtles, fishing, wild life, sharks teeth, shells and just relaxation. Location, location,location. Its got it! We had excellent communication with Francine who was responsive to all of our questions. Josie showed us the main house while she was cleaning and was very nice. We are definitely considering coming down again with grandma and grandpa. Thank you!

Thank you Francine for sharing your slice of Heaven with us! The accommodations were spotless, comfortable, and full of beautiful beach decor. Not having to deal with crowds of people and being able to be on what felt like our own private beach was perfect. We found many shark’s teeth, unique shells, and even saw a huge sea turtle on an evening walk coming in to nest.
The kitchen was also fully stocked and made cooking easy, and the grill was perfect. The chairs, umbrellas, sifters, and towels made the experience even better! We didn’t have to go out of our way to find anything, it was all right there.
We enjoyed our stay and getting to meet you and your husband! Thank you for being so accommodating.

Amazing house with amazing views of the gulf of Mexico. The house is rite on the water and has a very private feel. We were able to find 200 shark teeth in two days with 3 of us searching. Me and my brother in law we're able to snorkel to find about 100 teeth which was amazing. House is very clean. And owner is very responsive highly recommend this place.

From the moment we walked in, we felt transported to a “secluded just enough” tropical paradise. I’ve lived in Florida my entire life and never experienced that kind of underdeveloped beauty on the beach. Every creature comfort is there. Just bring your girls, a bathing suit, some clothes and something to keep your Sharks Teeth in!

My best friends of 40 years and I loved our stay on the beach. It was private but, close to multiple other beaches, state parks, and restaurants. The Tiki Bar and The Waverly had live music and great food. The unit was clean and comfortable.. hearing the waves crash all day and night was so amazing! The screened in balcony was the best..we had breakfast, snacks, and evening wine (provided by the owner) out on the balcony every day. We drove 15 minutes to Don Pedro state park to go on a kayak eco tour with SUP Englewood and it was an amazing experience. Manasota Key is an a great island providing a relaxed ;aid back vibe!! Loved it :)

Comfortable apartment on the second floor of a two-story house with all you may need and magnificent sunsets from the terrace. Very friendly hosts. Most of the trees shown on the photos are gone with Ian. Hopefully they will be replaced. Some shade in the yard would make it even better, but we used a gazebo as a replacement. Overall, wonderful place, without high buildings and not too many people. Hope to be back soon.

Beautiful views of the ocean. You can hear the waves from the apartment. Tons of turtle nestlings along the beach. Short drive to the small town. Perfect relaxing beach vacation spot

Another excellent trip to Manasota Key. The 2/1 unit was perfect for our family of 4. I literally only needed to pack bathing suits and our toothbrushes. The condo was stocked with everything we needed, inside and outside. The condo was only a mile or so from local restaurants and bars yet which made it easy to go out, yet far enough away from eh public beach so you have the peace and quiet. Thanks, Francine! We hope to be back soon!

It was great place to catch some relaxation. While the 3 nights we were there our list of daily things was massive.
But it was wonderful to come back each night and get good sleep. And in the early morning to sit outside and prepare for the busy day ahead.
I hope to come back again and just enjoy the beach & view.

We adored this property, laid back, had everything we needed and the owners were wonderful. We were looking for a non touristy place and we could not speak more highly of this experience. I also got to spend time in the early mornings with turtle patrol on the beach helping baby turtles get to the water.

My two adult daughters and I had a lovely peaceful week at Francine’s upper level duplex. I just loved the view with the covered screened porch to have my morning coffee. We had absolutely everything we needed already there ready for us, beach towels, beach chairs etc…Personally, I really appreciated after the road trip getting there having someone waiting on us to show us around and welcome us, that was soo nice!

Fabulous view of the ocean from the balcony. Perfect place to enjoy your first cup of coffee. Water was a beautiful aqua but not clear due to the wind/surf. Lots of turtles nested on the beach which was neat to experience. Villa bathroom and kitchen are updated and just right for our needs. Loved our stay.

We had such an awesome time in Manasota Key at this Vrbo and location ❤️ Francine and Marisa (Her helper) were wonderful and kind!! The beach was amazing, we found so many great shells! We enjoyed this place so much and will definitely be booking another stay with the whole family!!

Such a cute place, and very very clean! Amazing location right on the beach. Super friendly owner and caretaker, always responded very quickly. We felt that we had everything we needed including outdoor furniture to lounge, and chairs and beach towels! Couldn't be nicer! Can't wait to visit again.

5 stars for location/ price. You are right on the beach! Place has everything. We barbecued on site. All beach chairs and toys are supplied. Relaxing and romantic. There was a small issue with the Cable Tv that was resolved by day 2. ****Note weak WiFi. Best on lanai or on shared courtyard ****
