ALL NEW APPLIANCES AND LIVING ROOM FURNITURE AND RECENTLY PAINTED. This home is a beautiful choice for your vacation on Bald Head Island- offers a light, open floor plan, living room/dining room for 10, a wraparound screen porch and a fully stocked kitchen with all you will need for the gourmet cook and family meals, 3 spacious bedrooms with One King, One Queen and 2 Bunk Beds with 4 Double Beds and 1 Double Trundle and 2.5 bathrooms. Our home boasts gleaming hardwood floors throughout and beautiful comfortable furniture. Located in the center of the island, the cottage is perfectly situated within minutes from the beach. After a day at the beach, it is a pleasure to return home to the comfort of the live oaks and the peace and serenity of the maritime forest. To get around the island, you will have two 4 seat golf carts. If you would prefer to ride around the island on bike, there are four adult bikes for your use. Need other or different sizes - you can reserve/rent from Riverside Adventure at the Marina. Although we guarantee the use of the golf carts, we cannot guarantee the condition of the bikes during your stay. We will make every attempt to repair but it may not be possible during your visit. We have a professional property manager who lives full time on the island to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Bald Head Island is only accessible by boat or by a ferry, which departs frequently out of Southport, NC. Southport is 40 minutes from the Wilmington, NC (ILM) airport. A tram ride to the villa is included with your ferry ticket. Reservations are required. Visitors and residents travel around the island by golf cart, bike or by foot. Climb to the top of “Old Baldy,” which is the oldest lighthouse on the East coast. It was built in 1817 and originally commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Hike and wind your way around live oaks hundreds of years old and through the nature paths that Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers used in the ancient Maritime Forest. An upscale grocery market, spa, and shopping area is a short golf cart ride away. Discover the Bald Head Island Conservancy at the end of South Beach, where you can learn about the island’s wildlife. Sign up for classes, including the popular evening “turtle walks” to search for and observe nesting Loggerhead Turtles and if your timing is right even watch their hatchlings heading to the ocean for the first time! Bald Head Island is on one of North Carolina's southernmost cape islands - Cape Fear. Bald Head Island is accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat. With no cars and no crowds, Bald Head Island preserves the natural beauty and stress-free lifestyle of a simpler time. The island is blessed with 14 miles of pristine beaches, thousands of acres of protected salt marshes, and a spectacular expanse of maritime forest. *Club memberships are optional and subject to availability. Our family of four 100% enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Plenty of room, well-equipped and easy to get around. The property managers were fantastic — courteous and very responsive. Thank you for a memorable holiday weekend!

From our first trip to BHI, we were hooked. This was our fourth trip on the island and we had a great time. The house is nicely appointed with a nice big kitchen table (perfect for our Italian meatball dinner with family), ample seating and really comfy beds. The selling point was the double bunk beds for us; my kids had plenty of room to spread out. Barbara and Tyler (property management team members) were very attentive and made sure that all our needs were quickly met while on the Island. Tyler even mailed us our missing beach towel we accidentally left in the dryer when we (unhappily) had to leave. Farewell BHI...until next time!

Made a last minute reservation for my family ranging in ages from 42 to 9 year old twins. House was plenty spacious for my family of 6. All the basic things we needed were available for use. 2 golf carts available which was a plus!

We had such wonderful extended weekend getaway with friends at Villa Umi! The house is exactly as described (even more spacious than some pictures depict). It is very clean. The beds seem mostly brand new and are decent. It comes very well stocked with all sort of very nice beach equipment: very good condition backpack chairs, 8 or so nice beach towels, beach toys, life jackets, 2 umbrellas, even a cooler and beach bag! The kitchen is also decently stocked for cooking meals. Does have Keurig style coffee maker along with a standard one. Paper products and toiletries to get you through the first 3 days or so if the house is at max capacity. Bath towels for at least 1 set per person. Full size washer and dryer that works well with supplies for 3-4 loads of laundry. 2 golf carts that were a bit older and a little beat up but get the job done. 4 adult bikes. It is about a 7 min golf cart ride to multiple, nice, not as crowded beach access points with easy cart parking. About 7 min ride to the market and restaurants in that direction. About a 5 minute ride to the Marina. Great central location! I would note that it would be closer to a 15 min or so ride to Shoals Club if you elected to get that membership (we did not). Great house for a great vacation!
