The good:The property and the rooms were amazing. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The bad: Check in was at 4, a room wasn't ready until about 6. They upgraded my room to a slightly larger one but I had paid for a river view for valentines day and the one that was ready was a garden view. So we then waited another 45 minutes until the room I originally paid for was ready. It's bad enough check-in is hours later than most places but waiting as long as we did was unacceptable. I doubt we will come back, it definitely dampened the mood for valentines day.

The hotel was good. Service was great. Room was VERY dusty like no one had been in it in a while and the closet door was broken. The restaurant was very good. The biggest disappointment was that the whiskey bar was clised at 1036pm when the hour were till 11pm and we wanted to get a drink after the hockey game we attended.

Ambassador suite was awesome. Great views patio big room well worth it in DC

Great to stay at a historical landmark. Even though it has been renovated, there are still some flaws. No towel bars in the bathroom. Bar only open until 11. Bed was comfy and the view was great of the Potomac. Check out was uncomfortable as the desk person didn't have a great knowledge of English and I still haven't received my email copy of the bill.

I didnt like that originally they gave us a room with no view and they charged us $1K, but they gave us a complementary room and some of the showers weren't working but i loved most of the hotel.

The restaurants closed the bar full and nosy and rooms unclean and hallways . The place doesn’t deserve to be a 5 star

First time @ The Watergate Hotel. Will definitely be back! Love its proximity to the Kennedy Center.

Walking distance to The Kennedy Center and convenient to Reagan Airport

I didn’t like that there was no coffee service in the room and there was no room service after 10. I also had a hard time getting in touch with the front desk with the room telephone. I had to use my own cell phone and call the hotel to speak to the front desk!!! Expected more from a five star hotel. However I had a gorgeous room with a beautiful view and Housekeeping did a wonderful job every day. The front office staff and the Bellman were super kind and always helpful. Even the engineer was super helpful. Overall, it was a nice stay.

It was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend staying here if you come to DC. The cleanliness alone will make you feel welcome.

Very average hotel, very average staff, stay somewhere else if you can

Great staff and food, coffee great as well very friendly and close to Georgetown.

The hotel was clean and the service was good. I feel like you’re paying more so for the sake of saying you stayed at the Watergate. The ambiance of the whiskey lounge was impressive as well. Outside of that, for it to be a 5 star the service compared to other upscale places I would say was average. Overall, my family and I had a good time.

Peaceful background by the river

The hotel was clean, but on my last day hotel water did not work, I called room service and they just never came up, I checked out without showering. The cleaning lady threw out my Juul pods that were sealed and never opened. The concierge never pick up their calls. I would not stay here again.

We stayed there because we had tickets to a performance at the Kennedy Center, which was right around the corner. What we didn't know was that there was a very cool waterfront area close by at the edge of Georgetown with terrific restaurants and a skating rink. We had a wonderful experience and would stay there again.

For now, all ok.

Nice property. I only booked for the heated pool and it wasn’t heated, it was freezing cold also the tv was crookedly placed in the wall. I also had a problem with the ac controls (it stayed on 63 degrees) & I tried to call the front desk multiple times but no one answered. Overall I most likely won’t stay here again. Once again I only booked for the indoor heated pool and sadly it wasn’t hot at all.

Historic but not near the White House and attractions

1. Overpriced! 2. How could you charge your guests the resort fee that includes the using of the pool if the pool is closed for the maintenance during their stay?!?!?! THIS IS UNLAWFUL!!! 3. My stay was a complete disaster due to the problems with using of the cardkey - simply, we couldn't get to our room for the whole day!

I feel that this hotel is overrated. The rooms were nothing special...in fact I feel that there could have been maybe another desk in the room. Definitely not enough hooks for towels, or wet bathing suits from the pool. The mini fridge was full of way over priced drinks and everytime you would open the door the drinks would fall out. No microwave or fridge (was full w/ overprices drinks). The room service people just walked into the room after 1 knock.

Enjoyed our stay. I had hoped that the room where the break-in took place was open to all guests but instead it's rented out. The pool and steam room were very nice. Friendly service. The hotel accomodated us when we had a few requests.

I booked this room for my boyfriend's Birthday. I was very pleased that staff actually Shyanna upgraded our room to have a view of the water on a high floor and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit with a nice Happy Birthday card inside. I loved how the hotel staff paid close attention to detail Which made the stay even more enjoyable. The only problem I had was trying to get in contact with someone at the front desk everytime my boyfriend or I needed to speak with the front desk staff no one answered the phone our entire stay actually someone did answer and that was for room service 1 time, after that no answered us again. We needed ice to chill our champagne we called downstairs numerous times no one answered. so my boyfriend decided to take a walk around to see if there were any Ice machines available but he quickly realized there were none so I decided to go downstairs myself to figure things out before I made it to the elevators the nice security guard manager was doing his rounds and was nice enough to take our bucket down to the kitchen and fill it up with ice for us we were very grateful for that. The next thing was we called down late night to heat our food once again no answer at the front desk so I went downstairs to see if there was a microwave anywhere didn't find one i went to the front desk to ask and the front desk guy was nice enough to get one sent up to our room. overall we had a great stay but the front desk staff needs to answer the phones

Our room had damage - this was the second time we stayed here and won’t be staying again - as both times our room had an issue - for the amount of money we spent the rooms should be problem free.

The staff was amazing, especially Ahmed & Aziz. They were so kind and helpful and extremely knowledgeable regarding things to do and places to see. My husband is very picky and he give this hotel and staff/services 10/10. We will definitely be back and soon. Thank you Jamal & Sherazade

Fun for the cache but certainly not worth the price

They gave me a first room with a toilet not working properly, so they move me to a room with a smell so strong to vomit that you couldn’t go inside the room, so they move me to another room that the only thing that was clean was the bed sheets. Didn’t have a full set of towels or laundry bag. The worst part of all this terrible stay, not even one person apologize!
