Well , I have to say .
This felt very historic. The place felt like I was back at n time and felt original .
My wife and I felt like we walked back in time .
Couldn’t be more happier with our experience .
Can’t wait to return .
Highly recommended for a stay .

Beautiful hotel and architecture. Staff was kind and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. With any historic place, the furniture and carpet are dark. The plumbing was good/not great, but the bathroom had beautiful tiling and nice towels. My room opened to the outside, which wasn’t a problem exactly but I did wonder about safety (solo traveler). It was totally fine of course, but I was also glad it wasn’t raining. Finally, I checked in around 8:30 pm, and food service ended at 9:00.

Overall I’ts a very nice hotel to stay at and return. A very grand feeling. The amenities are too expensive. One meal each for 3 people, 4 drinks, 3 appetizers and 1 night valet was around ~$1,000.

Lobby and outside of hotel is beautiful, very aesthetically pleasing. The actual room was dingy, the floors in hallways with lumps and dips, not sure why. The smell in the room was off. The toilet is about 2feet off the ground, not good for taller people. Front desk customer service was poor. The young lady looked like she had a long night, maybe hungover, seemed like she was being bothered by us, with her body language and demeanor. Ask to stamp or validate our parking ticket to get the discount price of 27$ she said no need just go. Anyway there was a need, thank goodness it was only $3 more, but would have been bad if a 10$ difference.

Very nice! Neat little shops and restaurants in the surrounding area within walking distance. If you’re into night life there’s tons of bars within walking distance. Safe parking garage .

Long line at Check in. Only one person behind the desk even though it was early in the day. Not able to get the room of our choice. Ended up in small dark room. Very uncomfortable.

The historical hotel was absolutely beautiful! The staff was professional and helpful! The room was clean and comfy! We enjoyed the balcony. The hotel has many areas to explore and enjoy! We would stay again.

Hmmm so I booked a king bed on Hotels.com. When we checked in we were given a queen. 😬 i recently had a total knee replacement and so sleeping in a queen is very worrisome to me!!! My husband could accidentally hit my very painful knee during the night. 😬
Also I called housekeeping and then the front desk to get a down pillow.?? No one ever answered the phone, and I gave up.

The bed had earwig bugs and the mattress cover was urine stained, told the front desk which notified house keeping. The Patio restaurant for breakfast ignored us and didn't offer a table to us or at least say I will be right with you, and it was not busy in the least. I guess we were invisible, the hot tub was warm at best. The Chapel is locked always and if you ask staff about tours they are uninformed of process to take a tour. For what we paid ot was rather disappointing.

Beautiful historic hotel, good food, friendly staff.

Hotel is amazing, great place for a weekend getaway. Very relaxing, and beautiful hotel. The customer service for some reason is not very good. The front desk staff don't seemed properly trained, especially when compared to other nice resorts, their is no poolside service, they make you walk into the bar area, the hostess will tell you their is poolside service, but the bartenders will tell you no their isn't. They just need to tighten up their management more.
FYI - the internet is horrible here, so don't rely on doing any work here
Only recommend a night or two here, there is nothing to do in Riverside, it's nice to be able to walk to anything in downtown Riverside, but not much to see.
I would definitely recommend spending some time walking around the entire hotel to see the architect and the history, it's pretty cool.
Overall, not sure I would stay here again, but fun for the one weekend.

We absolutely savored our stay at the Mission Inn. We took the tour and walked around it, enjoying all the architectural elements, design features, colors, arches, domes, lights, frescoes, bells, etc…. We hope to return & are telling all our friends about you. All staff were professional and helpful ~ thanks team!

It was a beautiful hotel. I was disappointed by the service. I checked in, the room wasn't ready, so they stored our baggage until we returned.
When we returned to the hotel, the front desk said to call the number on the bag claim ticket to have the bags brought to the room.
I had to call repeatedly to get anyone to even answer the phone. I finally got ahold of someone they said they would contact the bell service to have the bags brought up. One half hour no bags. Called back, and was told the operator couldn't reach anyone at the front desk or bell service. It was midnight and I still had no bags, I couldn't get ready for bed, or do anything.
Finally after both myself and my friend who was staying with me called a number of times they dropped off the bags.
It should not have been this difficult. Not sure why they didn't bring the bags up and put them in the room when it was assigned, even if I wasn't there.
This really ruined the evening.

We were married here 42 years ago and came to celebrate our anniversary. Every room in the hotel is unique. The buildings and grounds are just plain captivating. Our room was spacious with a great view and balcony. Everything was perfect.

We were super excited to be here. After long time, finally we were able to fix our schedules and after long day work we ended up here. The front desk kathy was unfriendly and not welcoming. We paid the highest price for a room that the explanation of Expedia was wrong. The front desk didnt try to help us the fix the issue instead she charged us $30 extra to get another room in third floor. Even i showed her that we paid for the most expensive room and she was told us it is what it is. Even Expedia rep called the hotel and the lady ignored them. We ended up to pay $30 extra. The inn is overrated while it doesnt habe that extra ordinary view and nothing was even close to the pictures. Super old rooms with old furniture. We came here for my birthday and front desk ruined all our good vibes. Definitely we arent going back here and definitely im not 3 this place!

Nice rooms. I was very surprised to find out that there is no dryers on the bathrooms! First hotel that happens. Other than that, plenty of towels, toilet paper and soap. Clean and comfy bed. Be prepared to pay $35 dollars valet and $20 dollars self parking.

Great old piece of California history, Greta place. One suggestion—add a device charger station in each room. We all travel wit devices that need charging.

All staff was friendly and had manners, which was refreshing. The grounds are nicely kept, fun exploring and very walkable day & night. We got upgraded to a suite for a birthday weekend so we were highly delighted! Mission Inn Lunch is recommended and very delicious.

The property was a feast for the senses. So many tasteful details from another era. Holiday decorations were still up and just lovely. It was our first visit, and we will be back.

We always enjoy our stay and this was no different, but I was surprised to see a $10 charge for wifi on my bill after checkout. No idea who in my family might have used it, so I didn't call to complain, but never had this charge before. Disappointed to get nickel and dimed by our fave hotel.

Lovely historic building. Noisy fan in bathroom that could not be shut off, dirty linens. Needs some love and attention.

I wasn’t sure what rating to give based on my experience but I’m rating the room too, not just the rest of the hotel. I had to wake up early to find out if I could do a late check out so it defeated the purpose of me wanting some more time to sleep. The lock in my room was broken and the metal piece hanging off scratched me. However, the security staff member who fixed it in the morning was very nice and efficient. It did get a bit hot in the room because the AC seemed to be shutting on and off. I also was expecting a clean room and the bathroom a few hairs and it made me uncomfortable. My room lacked a privacy sign to put on the door so I had to find the cleaning staff and ask them for one. But at least they quickly found one and put it on my door. The room looked nice otherwise. The rest of the hotel is so lovely and I had to wait to be picked up so I got time to explore. Luckily you can leave your luggage with the bellhop. The front desk staff is helpful. The best part is the Festival of Lights! That aspect added to the magic of this historical place! The decorations are very well done and not too much. There are plenty of places to get food. The pool area is beautiful. I would probably stay again to try the restaurants, etc. but have housekeeping come by to clean it if it wasn’t clean again. I only stayed one night so I let it go.

My husband and I drove up from San Diego to see the Christmas display and spend the night. It did not disappoint! The hotel is lovely and the Christmas lights and decorations were the most beautiful we have every seen. Staff was wonderful and Edwardo went out of his way to help us with a reservation snafu that Expedia created. He certainly is an asset to this organization. Our dinner in the Mission Inn Restaurant also did not disappoint.

I took myself and my two kids to Mission Inn because they had a low-cost deal on Expedia. This was a surprise for the kids to close out Winter Break. From the moment we pulled up to the moment we departed (without ever leaving the Mission Inn in between) we were treated so well and created the best memory. Alejandro at the front desk exceeded our expectations on the room selection and even sent us away with free cupcakes and a historical book on the hotel. We didn't realize the festival of lights was still happening, which added such magic. We were treated with Shirley Temples and bottled water at the bar by a very kind bartender, Aliea. The pool was HEATED amongst the chilly day. Our room was SUPERB and had little alcoves and stained glass windows overlooking angels and gardens. Dinner was great and we were seated under two heaters so we wouldn't get cold. Every one of the staff went above and beyond, especially for the kids. Thank you, Mission Inn, for making this a supreme experience and likely one we'll replicate for years to come.

Very beautiful during the holidays.

We love the Mission Inn because it is so unique. It’s the closest hotel you can get to visiting Europe in SoCal, and the Christmas/Festival of Lights decorations made it extra cheery and fun to see at this time of year. We loved exploring all the different wings of the property and walking into the antique shops right outside the hotel. Our Glenwood Suite was quite large with walk in closets and an extra sitting room in past the bedroom and bathroom. The extra space was fun for our family so we weren’t all stuck in a small space like your average hotel room. The staff (Alfi) at the front desk was great.

It was a great experience with this wonderful hotel.
But the air conditioning system in the room smells terrible! So we shut it off … then we couldn’t sleep comfortably. The sleeping time was terrible the whole night. Another thing, the room has no clothes closet!! There was a door, but it was locked!!
Everything else was great.
