This was a really nice stay. The room was comfortable and clean when we arrived. The shower and balcony doors were difficult to push open, but, while the furniture looks a bit outdated, it's in great condition and has been well taken care of. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. We enjoyed the amenities, including the multiple pools and movie theater on rainy days. Waking to the ocean waves was a great way to start a day. No complaints.

Everything was good, except non of the ice machines were working in the building that we were in. Some of the electrical outlests were pushing back into the wall. Possible of a electrical shock

We have stayed here several times in the past, which is why we chose it. The first night my son went to take a shower, asked why I had put a washcloth on the shower curtain (which I hadn’t). This washcloth was stiff as a board, so it as been there a while. But it happens…then the A/C unit would rattle off and on all night. There were several teams (youth and high school) staying here as well. The pool area (which stated 45 max) was so packed with kids, running everywhere. Again, it happens. The second night, we had no hot water. Went to front desk, engineer was going to reset the boiler, asked to give it 10-15 minutes. Waited an hour. Had the water all the way on cold and it was still hot. Now for the biggest issue. We obviously had read signs about the Shamrock race once arriving in Va Beach. WE WERE NOT TOLD that street closures would effect us leaving. I spoke to the lady at the front desk on Sunday (as did numerous other guests). There was NO mention of this event on the Holiday Inn website nor were we told about it when we checked in. Front desk staff should have informed guests about this event and told people to read the information printed (which the did have but only at the middle two computers). Check out is 11am. Our block wasn’t reopening until possibly 3pm. I guess after complaint enough, they did extend our check out. But that was pretty bad coming from such a nice hotel. And don’t even get me started on the parking…

A surprisingly large room right on the beach with a balcony. A 7/11 just across the street and a good sized fridge that even had a freezer compartment. Covered free parking right across the street. sometimes it's the little things that make you happy.

A lot of stuff not working. Ice makers, toilet went down twice, only one elevator working, WiFi was down half the day. Could be a really nice place just need to invest in working infrastructure.

The hotel is in a good location. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. The elevators were slow and really small. We had to call 4 times to get additional blankets and the bathroom had a rusted towel rack and there was rust on the door to the bathroom. It is definitely dated and needs a makeover. The suite was spacious though so overall not bad for just a one night stay. I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay.

I didn't like not being able to reach the front desk from the hotel room phone, I used my cell phone each time. Even then, the phone always rang for minutes as no one was available to pick up calls.

I was sitting on the balcony when water came pouring down from the balcony above. I was drenched from the water. Front desk was notified and did nothing about it. Not even an apology

This location is awesome. Beautiful views. Staff was incredible, very friendly, professional, and courteous. Rooms were great. A few of the outlets didn't work but other than that, was clean, plenty of pillows, and they have Dove products!

The kids loved the indoor pool/lazy river. The outdoor was closed for the season but we still had a nice stay. Room was clean and even though the front desk made a mistake and double charged my card they made sure to fix the issue.

First time staying at this property. I love the north end of the beach, it’s much quieter. Although it was too cold to swim, they have two great pools. One is called the lazy river. I will most definitely be back.

Great location just at the end of the boardwalk, far enough away to be quiet and close enough to be near everything. Theres a big parking garage across the street which is a huge plus. Oceanfront room was very spacious, big balcony. Basic amenities, clean, friendly. I would stay again

The first room I was offered was covered in black mold. There was also black mold in the second room I was offered, although there was less. In the third room the carpet was old, dirty, stained and ripped in some spots. There was also stains on the furniture. There was no way to pull up the guide channel on the t.v. There was no way to connect to the t.v. via bluetooth. The generic remote for the t.v. barely worked and did have any of the functions on the t.v. available. Insufficient access to media.

Room was spacious, clean, and quiet! Easy access to boardwalk. Loved the indoor and outdoor pools!!! Staff was very polite! Square Whale for lunch/dinner was ok. The restaurant where we had the breakfast was buffet style. Buffet had many options and staff was so nice!! Thought $53 for 3 adults was a bit pricey. We will definitely return for a stay, but more then likely head elsewhere for breakfast and dinner.

Generally, the hotel was in good condition, the view, beach & location was all great. The staff was so-so. They were nice & helpful, but limited in their ability to resolve our issues. And Hotels.Com was no help, unfortunately. Our 2nd night of the stay there was a leak in our ceiling (restaurant kitchen above us) that forced us to relocate rooms at 11:30pm - tired, w/ 2 kids and ALL our junk we had to pack up and move to a different room on a different floor. The staff was nice & helpful, but we were told, voluntarily, that they'd comp our room for our trouble. Nice, right? Sure. Well no one seems to know HOW to do it because we booked & paid through Hotels.com. I was told by 2 different front desk staffers that they'd call me to let me know how it will be resolved. No call. And instead I received an ADDITIONAL CHARGE on my card for what I believe is the 2nd room - the room we had to relocate into because of the flood. IHG - Holiday Inn and / or Hotels.Com please contact me back to resolve this frustrating issue. I've tried you both and had no luck / no help.

The pools were great and the kids loved the indoor lazy river! The mattresses were very hard. The fridge was leaking and had saturated the carpet. The room smelled bad so I think it was an old leak. Staff said they would try to have someone come by but we were not made aware if that did or did not happen. The room also had an ant problem worse in the bathroom we kept finding them in the towels and in any clothing left in the bathroom. All that being said the location and parking were great and the staff was friendly!

The gentleman at check-in, Tonka, was very rude. He did not give us any information about the hotel and was very short and rude. On the day of check-out, one of the room service staff used his key card and walked into our room. I called the front desk and nothing was done about it. The only plus was the room; it served it's purpose but I was very unhappy about the interactions with the staff.

Outdated hotel. The room was comfortable, but very old. TV was unacceptable. Hardly any channels and always came up with no service available on certain channels. No TV guide on TV, no brochures in room regarding TV channels. No brochures regarding restaurants, bar, room service.

Good location furthest property North on the board walk. Possible process issues with staff checking guests in. Bare minimum in the rooms. Pull out couch was missing the dueve. Phone had a dial tone but none of the buttons seemed to work on calling the front desk.

Loved my balconies in the room. Room was spacious and comfortable bed. Overall clean. However, the ceiling was chipping and I had paint dust on my bed.
