My wife and I checked in Friday afternoon for our 2 night stay. We went to dinner and during dinner got a call that our daughter had to go to the hospital. I informed beacon that we were needing to cancel our second night due to our daughter having to go to the hospital. But since I booked through hotels.com they said I had to cancel through them also. That alone was a pain to reach an actual person. But when I did finally they said they would have to call the hotel to get approval for a refund. It could take 72 hours. They finally got back to me and said that beacon has refused to do any refund. I get there are refund policy’s and all but there is also life and not all things can be controlled. In this situation I have as much notice as humanly possible a little over 24 hrs. It we were not staying a night longer than we had to due to our daughter and possible flights.

Hairballs and trash in halls and stairways was rather unpleasant. Staff was very courteous. Loved that Beacon offers a breakfast buffet.

the hotel is very clean, the staff is very polite and attentive, the breakfast is quite decent. Remember that you are on the hottest street in Miami, in the center of it, so you may hear at some point some noises coming from parties close to the hotel.

Great location! So the hotel management doesn’t care about service. Very basic amenities, no space in the room for luggage, breakfast so-so. . Overpriced! Nothing promised upon booking ( VIP access for gold member). But Ocean drive is the best place in Miami Beach, so we excused all the inconveniences.

Second time we've stayed here before going on our cruise. Wonderul hotel, walking distance to many restaurants, parks, next door to CVS. Beach directly across the street. Excellent service! Free breakcast included with stay, good food. Will return in the future any time we port out of Miami.

The bathroom was tiny and not clean. The drain for the tub was tossed to the side. No space really to put your toiletries. Nowhere to hang your clothes but a half of a rod. Toilet paper had to always be requested they didn’t put an extra one. The room 407 was out dated.

Our stay was a mixed bag. We knew what we were getting into to some extent, but there was a lot of deferred maintenance in this property …lots of old damaged furniture, poorly trained staff , paint splatters on floor and bathroom, no working phone , internet or mini fridge. For $350 a night I had higher expectations but any Hampton Inn , Holiday Inn Express etc would have been a better value . Yes the Art Deco charm was great, the breakfast was pretty good and restaurant staff was good. However the staff needs a bit of training. Yes location was stellar but a “shrug of the shoulders “is not a valid way to handle multiple complaints. Having a working phone , internet and fridge Is not a huge ask. The AM manager was convivial and addressed my concerns. Location was spot upon and with a refresh this place could be a contender!

We had a very nice stay along Miami Beach. The room was comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious. The lobby, decor, and room were all amazing. Good wifi. The inputs for the TV are in the back not the side, and the TV is attached to the wall, so we could not plug in devices to watch our shows. Also we could clearly hear things in the room next door and above. Those were the two negatives, but otherwise a great stay, I would stay here again.

Other than the elevator was out of service during our stay, our poor friend had to hump up to the 5th floor. Also the shower holder was broken. Other okay. It was frozen when we checked but warmed up as the sun went down

We stayed there before and after our cruise. Customer service was great . The bell hop Julio was amazing. He helped three of us with luggage gave us info on the city and even arranged our cab ride to the airport. the hotel is prime location walking distance to food and shopping. I will definitely be back

The check in staff on 2/8/2024 was somewhat rude , I shrugged it off due to all the people checking in ahead of the cruise. The Hotel is old with alot character. The water pressure in the Shower was A+ on so many levels, you will come out with looking like a whole new person. The Hotel only has 1 elevator but Juilo is the 1 of the staff that deserves much accolades and appreciation 👏 for what he does. Juilo brought our bags to our room , brought them downstairs, kept a watch over while we all ate a quick breakfast. Juilo also arranged for us to get a ride to the airport at 0430 in the Am and arranged a wake up call for us as well. When you are eating breakfast you will know who Juilo is he is greeting guest, opening doors,moving luggage in and out elevator. He is doing everything . Angel the bartender made us a Cadillac Margarita and greeted us for breakfast with a smile. Great staff 👍

Pros: The service received by staff of the hotel was superb. This hotel is located in a prime location to experience SOBE nightlife and cool breeze from the ocean. In walking distance there are many restaurants and shops. There is a sweet aroma that spreads throughout the lobby and halls. Our room was pretty clean. Cons: The hotel itself is old. I highly recommend an upgrade. Our room and bathroom was super small. The toilet ran the entire time, therefore we used the lobby bathroom multiple times. The cracks in the shower were filthy and filled with putty as if they keep patching instead of replacing what needs to be replaced. The bathroom sink had stains in it as well. The floor needed to be mopped bc our socks were dirty.

Disliked no coffee before 8 am that really really sucks there should be a coffee machine available in the lobby by 5 or 6 we are early birds so are a lot of others also night of Thursday 15 we had no sleep as some young people partied all night music blaring and singing talking extremely loud but no staff intervened even though we were right over front desk it was terrible

The hotel room was very dingy. Dirty and a dead cockroach in the middle of the living room when I walked in. I was in a suit, location was amazing but everything was so dirty had to leave shoes in and set everything on towels. They installed a newer bathroom vanity that was way too big. Almost touching the toilet and too close to the bathtub that all the trash that fell down could not be cleaned. It was gross! A black sludge was coming from the bottom of the shower door running down the side of the tub. The staff were very nice and it if wasn’t a Friday in south beach I would of found another hotel.

Convenience and location of the hotel is amazing. The hotel itself is old and in my opinion run down. They served the same thing everyday for their free breakfast. Sausage, pancakes and eggs. They don’t have coffee for the residents until they open at 8;00, and trying to find parking is a nightmare for those of us who are not familiar with the area let alone the state. I would suggest staying on Ocean Drive, but if I go back it definitely won’t be there.

At the time of booking no one. Mentioned that the front of the hotel would be under construction in all dismantled. The cleanliness of the room was not very good service was okay. Would not book it again and would not recommend to nobody

We had a great big room which I reserved king bed , big bathroom , the handle on the shower was broken off so we couldn't stay in that room and they switched us to a double bed room which was smaller and a tiny bathroom
