Friendly staff but it was just an average hotel. The restaurant food wasn't very good and the service was worse.

Just needed a place to stay between our train ride and our flight home. They were very accommodating in storing luggage and allowing us to use their airport shuttle service later the day of our check out.

Our stay overall was great. Staff were friendly, the hotel had upgrades, but the bed was hard and lumpy. The sheets were not tight so they slide everywhere making it hard to get comfortable on an already hard mattress.

Front desk lady, Rose was not friendly or helpful. Made me wait over 5 minutes while she just typed on her computer without even telling me hello or I’ll be with you soon. After what felt like forever she said she would be with me shortly and made me continue to wait while she did whatever she was doing on her computer. There was no one else there she was helping. It was awkward, I’ve never been treated that way checking in before. Room was so so not that clean, water damage on ceiling over bathtub made it look like there was probably mold and the ceiling was bulging.

They are in need for a lot of repairs when I stayed there for the hallways and room because some room were close off because of hole in the floor and when u walk passed them the floor in the hallway was weak also

My experience was great, but when I asked for my receipt, the person couldn’t give it to me because my shuttle arrived to take me to the airport. She did informed me that it will be sent to me. To this day I have not received it and I need it so my travel will be reimbursed.

It was an ok place for the most part. However the front desk did give the key to my room to someone else when I was already in the room and asleep so that was a catastrophe and I pretty much had to solve it myself. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors and mine were awful. It sounded like they were constantly moving around furniture in there or something. Very noisy. The restaurant has average food at an above average price. The service in there was atrocious. It should NEVER take 22 minutes to get one beer when there is only one other person at the bar and 3 people sitting in the restaurant. But it does here. The bartender with the green hair could have cared less about being efficient and attentive and the woman with the purple hair who I assume is a manager was even worse and had zero concern about the people sitting at the bar with absolutely nothing in front of them. It is the only place around to get a drink or food on a snowy icy day, so maybe that is why their service sucks so bad because they know that people are kinda stuck there so they will just have to wait. However, Jenn that works the bar is FANTASTIC! She is the exact opposite of the green hair and purple hair women. Those two could learn from Jenn- especially that manager. I checked with Jenn for her schedule so I could make sure I only went back in there when she was working. That woman deserves a raise and could probably teach the staff a thing or two!

Clean and pretty-well kept. Doors don’t go all the way to the floor so there’s a big gap at the bottom. Noise from other rooms and hallway was very noticeable. Has a sports bar on site so that’s always a plus for me.

For an old hotel, The Coast Inn at Lake Hood is well maintained, user friendly, serves dinner until 10 pm, clean, very quiet, close to airport, and excellent shuttle service. Seems like frequent repeat customers, so a real glimpse of Alaskan flavor. Loved all of the old aviation photos in spacious lobby, and dining room.

Loved the authentic ambiance, entry with welcoming Totem Poles, Fireplace with rustic coziness, and good food easily accessible at Pipers Grill with the greatest view of Lake Hood and the float planes landing and taking off! - And highly recommend a half hour float plane flight with local Rust's Flight Tours! Shout-out for special care and courtesy from Jennifer at the front desk!

Two story hotel with no elevator. At the tops of stairs and at hallway intersections, no arrows indicating which direction to go for which room numbers. Breakfast is no longer included with the room. The room was fine, the electronic key worked, and the front desk was efficient.

The room I stayed in (room 149) the floor was buckling, there were holes in the floor under the carpet. The entire hallway looked as if either side of the building is settling as the hallway floor is “bowed up” in the middle. When I showered the tub flexed up & down as I showered

The hotel has been updated with modern bathroom fixtures, USB outlets, etc. Close proximity to the airport, the free airport shuttle, and the on-site restaurant/bar made my stay stress-free. But the aging wood-frame structure reveals the walking sounds of people walking the halls, which might bother a light sleeper.

It was great to be on the lake and watch the sea planes. Great food at the restaurant there! We really enjoyed our one night stay. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to Anchorage.

For the price Point this was a really great place. The room was very comfortable in size, clean and in good repair. Very close to the airport. The restaurant served good food at a good price with great wait staff. I recommend this as a place to stay in Anchorage.

We booked as close to airport after a long day flying. Shuttle was convenient and quick as was check in. When we wakes into the room though there was a’smell’ bit like old cigarette smoke. On this stay we booked a suite to give us a bit more room, the size of which was really good. They offered a free breakfast - select 2 items, not huge choice but ok. We did stay another night before we flew out, again for convenience. Just had a double room and big difference in standard, towels much smaller and thinner to start with. At the end of the day it’s a place to rest your head, close to the airport. Don’t think I’d do a longer stay here though.

This hotel does NOT have an elevator, they told me this after having my key to me for the 2nd floor. They saw that I had 2 heavy suitcases and traveling alone. Keep in mind before booking. The bathtub had hair in it so that was gross. I did like the updated rooms, the bed was also comfortable enough. The restaurant attached to the hotel is awful, but that’s a different story. I’m not impressed, won’t stay here again.
