I love that it's a hotel but felt like I was camping in a cabin. The bed was comfy and the room was perfect size. I love that there's a path for the beach. I felt safe to walk around. Already reserved for another stay this summer!

I have been coming here since I was three years old and will continue to do so I now bring my family as an annual tradition and it has been our favorite experience a wonderful place to let the kids just run around and enjoy nature with the beach right next to you! Absolutely cannot beat the relaxing and calm, nurturing environment that they provide

We had a handicap unit that the shower backed up in the night and flooded bathroom and carpet. The pushbutton door opener for wheelchair exiting didn't work. Cold water faucet at sink was broken. Closet doors were off track and wouldn't slide. Very poor lodging for the price charged. We have been there many times in past years and this was worst booking ever. Don't recommend .

Great location and access to the beach! Friendly staff and amazing communal areas. Great activities around the grounds with free tours and wonderful views. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating all the way. Would stay here again for the vibes and activities. However, the room itself is mid at best. The pillows were hard, the bathtub was pealing, the sinks were small and little water sprinkled out, and the toilet was tiny. The beds were what you would expect from a motel. Stay here for the activities and not the comfort.

I attended conferences at Asilomar in the late 1980's. My memory of it was that it was an amazing place with great accommodations. I was disappointed with this visit. The property hasn't been updated since I last stayed there. The rooms are rundown and nothing has been modernized. The grounds are amazing, but if Asilomar wants to remain competitive and relevant it needs to be updated.

The place is very rustic. Outdated rooms and bathrooms. No AC or fan. Pillows were flat. Bathroom door wouldn’t close. Sinks leaked. Dead bugs in bathroom screen, mold and rust in shower, hair in sink.

Old and rusty but location is amazing!! Wish staff was bit more friendlier and welcoming to accommodate for old and breaking apart buildings. Quite hours after 10 pm. Not allowed to use lobby for food. We were five families and arrived there at 8:00 pm but were not allowed to use lobby.

The surroundings are gorgeous, but the hotel reminded me of a haunted hotel from the early 1900’s. Or even a sanitarium. No bottled water in the rooms, no help with luggage. Beds were too soft. Clerk was pleasant.

I’ve always enjoyed Asilomar. It’s rustic although wood is really fading, and interiors are dark. There were broken windows, but every building still has its charm, and the whole complex is special, with the central patio and fire pits and closeness to the beach as well as the deer casually roaming around. I will continue to come back.

This facility is a conference center located right on the sand dunes with lots of paths to walk and cycle. Just gorgeous. Quiet and convenient between Carmel and Monterey as well as 17 mile drive

The rooms are underwhelming. The wallpaper is coming off the walls there is mold in the shower. When asking if all rooms look like that the guy at the reception said „the building is a 130 years old, some parts are run down“. We didn’t even stay in the oldest part and a old building doesn’t mean you can’t take care of it. The nature surrounding the hotel is beautiful.

I love staying at Asilomar because of its beautiful setting, its simple, rustic accommodations, and the quiet comfort I feel when I'm there. It reminds me of summer camp without the compulsory 8 a.m swim class!

We reserved a room advertised as “Premium Room” with Multiple Beds. There were 4 beds alright, but it is no way Premium. The room has no air conditioner, no fans (even if we requested for it), no television, and the room is dated. It is unsafe because the window and patio door was locked shut. In case of an emergency, there is no way out of the room but the entry door. One of the 2 sinks is clogged. The unit is not clean. We requested to move to another room, but the Front Desk said they can’t move us because the other room has the same condition. What kind of answer is that? This facility caters to a lot of conferences & seminars. They should use some of the money to upgrade the rooms. The only thing we like is that Rebecca from Front Desk is friendly and courteous. Don’t book any rooms here. We will not be back to Asilomar.

Always a great place to stay for activities in Pacific Grove, Carmel and Monterey. Not luxurious, but functional and comfortable and in a GREAT location. Close to Fishwife Restaurant and other activities. Buildings are spread-out as the complex is quite large. Nice staff. I like this place a lot. Oh yes, I televisions.

This room should NOT be assigned to any customer until staff|owner address the NOISE of what sound like a metal factory 24x7. I had to cut my trip and leave early and should be reimbursed for this awful experience…

The pool was heated, 85 to 90 degrees. Fireplace with burlap saks. I honestly cannot believe they charged $300/night and i paid that. Wouldn't do it again. Reminds me of a corporate retreat for leadership and social connectivity

I went to the academy at asilomar in 2004. It was a beautiful place. My girl and I stayed there this weekend, and it felt like a third world country. The boardwalk is literally washed out and broken, and clearly nobody has any intent on fixing it. The third world riffraff occupying the beach these days, have no appreciation for the history of the area, and will contribute nothing to its preservation or reconstruction. It’s sad to see.

Water container in the shared room in Scripps was not refilled. Outside door from the hallway slammed shut every time someone came in. Clean and neat room.
