Lots of character.
Would have liked booking.com to make it clear in the property description that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday of each week. As the hotel is quite isolated we had to drive to get dinner and the nearest restaurant was 20 minutes away.

This hotel is sinking, we are told that it is on the market.
The owner , who has 2 other similar hotels is said to be in financial difficulty.
We had 2 stays at the beginning and end of a 2 week holiday not having stayed here for a year.
The area round rooms at the back of the building is just dead grass. Trying to get a drink before dinner took over 30 minutes, the staff member had only been there for 2 days and had not received any bar training.
The first visit croissants weren’t available after only an hour of breakfast starting and the kitchen indicated they would be cooking more.
The hotel has always been a bit of a joke - large picture frames with thin paper copies of paintings and much ‘gold’ on furniture.
The restaurant has only once been open when we were staying - not that we would have eaten there as at the Gennes end on the road is a great restaurant .
