Very convenient, great price, basic, clean, however the heating was sssooo noisy. I was in an accessible room. If you need a flat access to roll into the shower, then the semi-rigid plastic piece near the shower drains may be a problem

We've been staying at Black Jack for decades almost every time we go skiing at Heavenly. The rooms and the lobby area have been remodeled over time, and are currently at its best to date, clean, compact, comfortable and modern despite the unassuming exterior. And I can't say enough about the location right within walking distance of all the happenings in South Lake Tahoe, and the courteous, friendly and responsive front desk personnel. We always choose to stay here for our ski weekends.

Very comfortable place for a few nights. Great price for the location. Quiet neighborhood but the walls are thin so if you’re lucky your neighbor will be courteous and not sleep with the TV volume high like ours. Bring earplugs. The heater is loud and blows in your face so I recommend leaving it off while you sleep. Unit was updated and had a microwave and frig. We walked to the Gondola which was a good warm up.

The room was very clean, updated , affordable and simple. I appreciated that the beds had a little padding and cozy blanket under the cover. We checked in late and it was very easy. They had warm coffee in the mor ing and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed at the blackjack about 3 different times and always enjoy coming back. The location is right next to the shops and restaurants in south lake and near the gondola to heavenly for snowboarding and skiing, also a few minutes walk to the casinos, barely had to drive our car because we could walk to a lot of things. The rooms aren’t the biggest but they are comfortable and super clean. The bathroom we had looked fairly new, might’ve potentially been remodeled not so long ago. The room has everything we needed, mini fridge, microwave, good a/c and heater and a comfortable bed. Will look forward to my return again next year.

Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was ready early which was awesome! The room was clean and worked well for the 1 night. The only downside (not even a huge one) I would say are the thin walls, you could hear everything and everyone in the room around you and the parking lot.

What a gem! Front desk staff was very friendly and professional, the accommodations were clean, and love that it’s directly across the street from Heavenly! Will definitely stay here again!

The only good thing about this property is its location to the Gondola. Several issues with property listed below: - states coffee is available in lobby at 7:30a. On the first morning I showed up at 7:45a and no one was there, locked and even rang the bell nothing. - housekeeping never came the first day and when I brought it up to front desk they tried to blame me for having a do not disturb sign - which I didn’t. When housekeeping came the next day, they only replenished towels, nothing else. Not even making the bed. - sink was cheap, no water pressure and took forever to change from hot to cold, as well as a struggle to turn fully off. Brought up to front desk and said she’d send someone but nothing was ever fixed. - asked to speak to management and front desk told me they were on vacation and there was no one to talk to with any authority on property. That is concerning. - on our last morning we went out for breakfast before check out and when we came back the door was completely wide open. I’m assuming housekeeping came when we were gone thinking we left already but all of our stuff was still in there. Overall I gave the property the opportunity to correct all of the above and wasn’t met with a single apology or way to right the wrongs. I will never stay at this property again - there are a bunch of hotels walking distance to gondola and I’ll be staying there next time.

The walls are too thin. We can hear every noise that come from the rooms either side of us. The air conditioning unit is very loud. Had to turn it off to be able to sleep. The parking spots are small. Other than that it is a very convenient location.

Very close to Gondola and everything. Check in/out easy. Lady at check-in very friendly. Renovation looks new. Bedding comfortable. Will return if in the area again.

I was a bit sketchy while booking, based out the outside, but figured for one night it would be ok. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by very friendly helpful staff who made us feel right at home. The room was small but ample. Was clearly renovated and had modern bathroom and had extra touches like shower gel, shampoo and conditioner which makes a huge difference to us. Water was hot, everything was clean. We travel a lot and this place exceeded our expectations.
