Carlton Europe is a very historic and vintage hotel. I got an unexpected room upgrade which was awesome and the staff is very helpful and informative.

Great location, walking distance from the Interlaken-Ost station, Harder-Klum cable car, Lake Spiez boat dock, restaurants, downtown etc.
The hotel had one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, so many options to choose from, even vegetarian-friendly items. We did not an early checkin but did receive an upgrade which was much appreciated. The suite was spacious, bed was comfortable and had a kitchenette which was helpful. The balcony also had a lovely view.
The one annoying feature was a shower curtain in the bathtub and the shower was literally inside the bedroom without any partition between the wet area and floor. So every time we took a shower, the room flooded. Why this architectural choice was made is questionable because everything else was great at the hotel.
Apart from the shower situation, excellent stay.

Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Location was excellent also!
No air conditioning. We were provided a noisy fan - no good when trying to sleep.
Our bed was 2 single beds pushed together. We asked for a double but it couldn't be provided.
Pillows were flat, quite uncomfortable.
