Best part was the breakfast where dahney at the fruit station she made the waffles the best, very helpful with mangoes also. The hotel was spotless and the suite i stayed in was amazing room 2016 best views possible. I highly recommend this hotel. Staff was all friendly and very helpful.

The club lounge is definitely worth the upgrade. With a very nice breakfast and evening cocktails. The week I stayed the beach was closed with construction machinery on it. I would’ve liked to at least been notified of this situation. For the beach the alternative is to go to one of the island beach clubs which you NEED to do your own research on, as it became abundantly clear that wherever someone recommends is getting a kickback from and this brings me to the concierge that recommended mine which was ok but lunch was almost inedible. The concierge hours are inconsistent and can literally take days for you to track down. There’s a lot more to this part of my disappointment but non need to go on a tirade. That aside they have a very relaxing pool and decent food with some polite staff. The immediate neighborhood has ample services and places to eat, but is a bit dicey with aggressive vendors and street walkers. The area of the walled city is a much nicer neighborhood to stay, aside from not being on the water but if you’re going to be a patron of the beach clubs in baru or the islands, you’ll have all you want.

I stayed at the InterContinental Cartagena from May 15–19, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the pool area is magnificent with stunning views overlooking the ocean. It quickly became one of our favorite places to relax during our stay. The rooms were comfortable, the property was well maintained, and the location was excellent. What truly made this stay exceptional was the staff. Every employee we encountered was friendly, professional, informative, and genuinely helpful. The level of service exceeded our expectations. I would especially like to recognize the concierge team. We were having difficulty getting information and arranging transportation to our next hotel in the Rosario Islands. The concierge went above and beyond to assist us by finding the correct contact information, explaining the transportation process, and helping us make the necessary arrangements. Her assistance relieved a great deal of stress and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation. We are incredibly grateful. We were also celebrating my birthday during our stay, and the hotel made it truly special. Prior to arrival, they accommodated my request for a higher-floor ocean-view room, and upon arrival they upgraded us to an even better room location.
