First of all, i maintain that Moon Palace is the number 1 all inclusive hotel in Jamaica. With that said, there are some issues and having seen other guests echo this online in other forums, i know it isnt uniquely identified by me. The beach (specifically the North beach by the Volley Ball area) needs to be paid attention to. There is so much garbage and plastic on top of and under the sand it takes away from the luxury that we expected. Clearly the sand wasnt cleaned in a while because the same garbage i saw on dy 1 was there on day 5. There was an empty "Cran Grape" bottle sitting on top of the sand for my entire stay and the hotel doesnt even offer this as a drink option. When snorkelling there is so much plastic, garbage and foreign material in the water a few feet from the shore. Lastly, there are too many rocks and stones that injure guests and take away from the experience. I would suhggest the hotel finda creative ways to manage this. For example, have a competition for children to see who can gather the most stones and pile them up and give them a prize from the gift shop. All in all, great customer service, great overall experience... Just fix the beach.

All though I was told I had VIP access I was never told what that meant. I asked about room upgrade during check-in but the question seemed to be ignored.
Overall the family enjoyed their trip, but the hotel itself could use some upgrading. Our first night we were barely able to sleep due to the extremely loud music.
I also felt they tried too hard to sell packages whether it was timeshare or excursions.

Absolutely stunning resort with the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered.

They enquired quite often to find out if we were ok and needed anything. Simply amazing!!!

I originally was supposed to get married at this property, however due to COVID my husband and I had to cancel. We were so impressed with the customer service that we received during our planning stages that we still wanted to visit. Renardo Campbell was our wedding planner and we just had to visit him.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Michael he was warm and provided such a wonderful welcome. His customer service was excellent. The check in process was seamless. I do not like the part when you have to talk about becoming a member as it sounds like a timeshare. The property is beautiful and clean. Plenty of things to do and very walkable. The beach is small but clean and never over crowded. Special shout out to my pool bartender Fernando. He was always pleasant and made everything just right. The food is okay. The Jerk Hut is the absolute best option. It was always great! Customer service all around was EXCELLENT. Another shout out to Montgomery in the Gondola restaurant. He was extremely nice and pleasant. An excellent server. He was patient and knew that menu in and out. Overall our vacation was good! Make sure if you have a resort credit you use it. I didnt plan excursions and spa treatments until the last minute and could not use mine. No fault of the hotel. If in Ocho Rios this is a good option for a peaceful location.

Excellent service and staff at the Moon Palace Jamaica! Food quality and a wide variety of choices made our stay even more enjoyable. Staff was friendly. Room was fairly nice but we would choose a better view for our next visit. We would be happy to return to the Moon Palace Jamaica.

Small Rooms. Other than that it was a wonderful stay, good folks, fun activities and amenities overall.

This was my second time at the property because I loved it the first time. Sadly my second experience wasn’t the best. Something came up missing from my room, when I alerted security and went back to my room the door was open, despite me closing it. My room was changed and when I arrived at the new room that door was open as well. I was left feeling unsafe and uncomfortable. The public relations team did their best to rectify the situation but ultimately the damage was done.

Amazing trip! Our week long stay was the first time my husband and I ever travel abroad. Our excursions were booked on site once arriving, so convenient! All staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We will certainly be staying with moon palace again very soon!

Just got back from our vacation at Moon palace Jamaica and I have mixed emotions regarding this place, so I start from the only thing that we liked to the stuff we didn’t like so much.
There are so many lovely people working in this resort, very warm, kind and friendly no matter if you tip them or not. The hotel itself is mediocre at it best. Lobby and common areas are clean and beautiful but the rooms are small and outdated, we had mold in our shower.
Upon checking in I mentioned that I have a gold status in Expedia, and they upgraded my room to ocean front which was nice but that’s about all you get with VIP, I lost count how many times I called to get an Iron in our room, or one night they forgot to put water in our room and I called three times to get water, we couldn’t use the hair dryer because the connector was loose.
There are few walk in restaurants which all serve more or less the same menu and the food is bland and tasteless.
We didn’t enjoy any dish and we tried all restaurants except momo. Buffet is not bad but the variety of food is less than other luxury resorts that I have been before.

The ambiance was on point. However, the food in the restaurants did not do it for me. I like food that is seasoned well, the food needs some help and also the entertainment was disappointing!

We did have some staff service issues which was brought to the attention of operation manager and the executive director Poala and she addressed those issues.

Beautiful property, very well kept, great customer service, good was great.
The only thing we didn’t like was the drinks. Alcohol was cheap and very heavy handed when making them! That was our only complaint, made up not want to drink.

Fantastic food options. Entertainment was great. Beach small but durable. Staff friendly

I have this property 3 stars because I expected more from a relatively expensive 4-star high end resort for the following reasons:
Pros:
- beautiful warm beach that’s well-maintained
- nice, clean and fairly newly remodeled building
- children’s playroom is fantastically built out and the staff were great there
- their food and service at Momo’s is great.
- many different food options, entertainment options for everyone!
- Rosemarie and Franz at Piano Bar were amazing!
- Christopher and Nahashan at Momo’s made our dining experience much better than all others
Cons-
- in general, staff seemed unhappy and didn’t want to be there (aside from some stellar folks mentioned above); some lack communication skills and others were downright rude
- aggressive sales people who hunt you down to try to schedule time share meetings upon check-in
- aggressive salesman who chased after us after check-out to offer discounted future stays; he was quite rude
- far from everything else and not walkable
- pool was not heated!

I liked the cleanliness of the property and the beach was excellent. I found majority of the staff to be very cold and unfriendly. It was so bad I had to ask one of them if they were trained to not fraternize or display warmth to the guests. After that conversation our interaction with that server improved to the point I gave her a tip. It’s as if they don’t appreciate us being there and it wasn’t just my experience I heard a few other guests complaining about the same thing.

I expected more from this property. There lacked some attention to customer experience and hospitality.
Upon arriving you are given the hard press to “take the tour” which really means they will press you to purchase their resort membership. This is very off-putting. I needed to call daily to have items replenished in my room (towels, soap, toilet paper and beverages) despite the room having been “serviced”. The elevators were an extremely busy and unreliable. The water sport activities were unavailable for 2 days of our stay because the rescue boat was under repair (no back-up?). Not to mention that 3 out of 4 of us got violently ill for 24hours. While the food was tasty, we became very weary of eating. The polite Canadian response is that our vacation was “fine” but in fact at the price point we paid…we will not return.

Beautiful place and people…
Unless you were doing excursion, you were on the property! The restaurants were amazing. The pools are beautiful. The weather was icky because it was winter.

Even though it was my second time staying at the resort, it felt like the first. As soon as you step inside the employees greet you with refreshments, even a rose. Check in wasn’t long and the lobby was spacious and clean. The rooms were clean as well with wine sitting waiting for us. There’s a lot of place to eat and enjoy yourself, as well as an in resort beach with crystal clear waters. I just want to say thank you to all the staff for making the Moon Palace feel like a home away from home and I hope to see you guys again.

I did not like the fact that as soon as you check into the hotel, you are pestered to be in a timeshare. I could get past that if they didn’t lie on their alleged compensation for my time. Beware.

We had a great time at the Moon Palace in Jamaica. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room and the bed were smaller than expected. The international buffet was a little disappointing. They served mostly local cuisines, and the menu was very limited and similar every day for the week we stayed. We loved the complimentary water activities, including the kayak and paddle board. The staff were attentive on the beach bring drinks. The local market and shops are right outside of the resort. It's only a 5-10 minutes' walk. We used the hotel shuttle for airport transfer, it costed $45 per person roundtrip. We had to leave the hotel 6 hours before our flight departure time, which means long wait in the airport. I would recommend private transportation to be more flexible. I would have given 5 stars, except for the buffet and transportation. Overall, it's a beautiful resort with great services, and I recommend it.

We paid for triple occupancy yet there were only 2 dbl beds ....3 adults made sleeping uncomfortable

The location was great, the property beautiful, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Having room service available 24 hours was most impressive and made a big difference during our stay. The spa was also quite remarkable.

This resort is really beautiful. I loved our room, it also came with a balcony and ocean view. So beautiful at sunset.
The restaurants are okay. They have a seafood, Italian and steakhouse restaurant. The seafood restaurant could use some more options to choose from. No fish, no lobster. They also have a nice buffet that offered a variety of dishes. I saw lots of Caribbean dishes along with Indian, and American dishes.
Room service was also just okay. They mentioned the menu was on the tv but we couldn’t figure it out. After certain hours you can’t get some options of food. For such an expensive resort I wondered why they didnt have lobster or steak. For steak you have to pay an additional fee.
I also didn’t see much night time entertainment. Pretty quiet. If you’re looking for a vibe check out another resort that offers that like RIU.

I visited moon palace for my birthday in December and I was not disappointed. There were tons of food and drink options. The staff was very nice and helpful during my entire visit. 10/10 I would definitely visit again.

The staff is friendly, but the water or drinks being served could have contamination. My 4 years old daughter and I got sick 3 days after staying at the hotel. I booked 3 different spa services but was unable to go because I was sick, and they refused to give me a refund of the money I paid after using the some of the credits I got for attending a presentation. I was so weak from throwing up all night and the next day, it was hard to get out of bed and go to the spa. I explained what happened, but they still refused to refund me my money.
I will caution others not to sign up for any packages or deals until the last few day of your trip. See how your trip goes then make that decision for yourself. Don’t be pressured into anything.
The best part of the trip was the friendly staff, especially at the playroom and wired. The pool with the water slide is always dirty, so be careful to not have your little ones ingest the water. The beach wasn’t that great either.
This was my 4th trip to Jamaica and my first time getting sick. There are better hotels on the island plus the bus ride to the hotel in Ocho Rios from the airport in Montego Bay is about 2 hours long. It could be a bit much if you are traveling with little ones and already had experienced a long day of travel getting to the Island and going through customs.

I came in on a late flight and required some items that were not available as the shops were closed. However, the receptionist who checked me in made sure I was able to get those missing items once I got to my room. All around pleasant and professional individuals who are the dynamics of ensuring this establishment is operational and meeting its objective. It was a pleasure and I will be back.

The resort is located 1 1/2 hrs from the airport but location is amazing, worth the drive. It’s close to market area, lot of activities for kids at the property that there not much need to go out. Decor and food was just mesmerizing . We stayed for 6 nights with 2 kids under 15 and my kids had the best time ever. Evening activities and music kept us all entertained. We would love to come back .
