Marker 8 is a great hotel that offers a great location and friendly staff! Situated at the base of the Bridge of Lions, an easy 12 minute walk into the St. Augustine old town. Beautiful views of the bay, bridge and ships from our balcony! Easy highway access to the beaches and restaurants. Great breakfasts and afternoon hors d'oeuvres! We had a great vacation!

Given that Marker 8 is on one of the barrier islands instead of directly in the Spanish Quarter, I thought that driving there might be difficult. It is much easier to deal with the access and parking than the Spanish Quarter. Also the food is fantastic and the people are friendly.

Just perfect! Wonderful staff, beautiful view, excellent location. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom as well. I always judge a place by its Bathroom.
This did not disappoint. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. And tbe view made it even more special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. No complaints at all. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This hotel is well located, on the other side of Bridge of the Lions. It was an easy walk to cross the bridge and be right in the middle of old St Augustine. We can see the marina from the sliding door in our room. The free breakfasts are excellent as well as the free appetizers. The room was completely renovated and remodeled, very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Only issues: a bit pricey and the location near the bridge creates some noise from the cars and motorcycles crossing it or waiting for the bridge to open. If you are sensitive to noise, I suggest you bring a white noise device, which we did.

Great place to stay. Right over the bridge from downtown St Augustine. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast does not disappoint. Rooms were nicely decorated and the shower was great. Very clean room and property.

Wonderful hotel. View, breakfast, happy hour, staff, and room all great. Only improvement requests are: 1) to add hooks and/or towel racks to the bathroom and 2) figure out how to keep the floors in the room cleaner. My feet turned black when walking barefoot in the room.

This is a great location! The historic district is a short walk across the Bridge of Lions.
The hotel is set on 2 floors. It was incredibly worth it to stay in a room on the upper floor with a balcony giving a fabulous view of the bay, marina and the bridge. With my cellphone, I was able to record the “raising of the drawbridge” for sailboats etc to pass.
The room is comfortable and the bathroom has a spacious shower enclosure with copious amounts of hot water.
My spouse and I loved the nautical feel and theme of the room.
Front desk check- in was swift.
I’ve got a slogan that comprehensively relays my opinion of a hotel. “If the front desk staff only see me at check-in and at check- out, then I have had no issues/ complaints or found anything wanting that I may have had to request.
Special mention must be made of the breakfast here. It is definitely NOT a Continental breakfast. The staff here, Belinda, B’s Auntie and their colleague run a tight ship( 😊)
The menu changes every day and Belinda will recite it to each patron without missing a beat. The meal consists of starters and an entree. There wasn’t a day that we had both. If either of us had a starter, we’d share an entree. My only request on our first morning there was extra hot water for tea as the tea in my first cup cooled down too much for my liking. A fresh cup was still not hot enough as I do enjoy extra hot tea. Each morning after that they would have that extra hot water ready for me in an insulated cup.

We came for the nights of lights. Location is more than perfect, view is outstanding, service excellent, parking free and included breakfast makes it a great choice. We got 1st floor room and it was the best

Great location! Walking distance to downtown St Augustine- directly across the drawbridge - beautiful! Gina, the desk team lead was fantastic! Very professional, informative & fun to chat with. Would highly recommend staying especially if you have a boat - Marker 8 has a marina on site!

2 part review. NOT Handicap friendly. Concrete curbs, steps and locked gates prevent entry. Beds are too high to allow mobility challenged too get into and out of. I spent all night keeping my husband from slipping onto floor every time he needed to use bathroom. We checked out early because we couldn't sleep in bed.
However, if you have no mobility challenges, the place was clean, homey and would be a good experience. Loved the exposure to river and boats right outside our patio. Food (breakfast and evening hor d'oeuvres) very good. Room has coffee maker and great working mini fridge.
To be clear, bed was comfortable for able-bodied individuals, but torture for mobility challenged as they tried to get in and out.

The staff was some of the friendliest I have met at a hotel. They were welcoming, and had tons of knowledge/ information about the area. They provided a welcome packet, which included a map, recommended dining, etc.
The room had vinyl flooring instead of carpet, which gave it a somewhat “updated” feel. The room itself was nothing special, although, the view of the bay was nice!
Unfortunately, the shower head had what looked to be black mold on it, and overall looked pretty dirty. I will say, we did not call the front desk to report this. With how helpful they were, I feel confident they would have sent someone to clean it immediately, had we reported it.

It’s not a luxury stay, but the location is great and the breakfast and service were very good. We needed two maintenance issues taken care of and they were dealt with immediately.

Great location and view. It’s just over the bridge with a door that lets you out right by the base of it. It’s close enough for a quick walk, but far enough away from the large holiday crowds. We were also able to see the full view of holiday lights. The service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the patios face the water and downtown St Augustine. Breakfast and parking were included. Everything has been recently renovated. We’ve stayed in several hotels in the area, but will be returning to this one.

Location is great. Beautiful water front and town view. An easy walk across bridge to downtown and without the noise of being right in downtown. Free and easy parking on site. Staff was professional and extremely courteous. Complimentary breakfast was the best food we had all vacation. Definitely would recommend and stay again!

This hotel is in a perfect location and has a gorgeous view from your room. That’s what I was looking for. Just a quick walk over the bridge into downtown Saint Augustine. The staff was amazingly friendly, and we really loved the nice touches, such as the social hors d’oeuvres, and sit down included with the room.

Went to see the festival of Lights at Saint Augustine and from the moment we opened the door to the reception area to check in we were greeted & treated so kindly it just warmed our heart and we know we will be back.

We chose to stay at Marker 8 during Night of Lights and I couldn’t have been happier. It was away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but walkable and in the perfect location to get to everything. Our room overlooked the marina and water and was so beautiful with the lights all on across the water in downtown. I would highly suggest.

We had a great time at Marker 8. The marina, Bridge of Lions and city view from our balcony was perfect. Every member of the staff that we interacted with was super friendly.
The cooked to order breakfasts were excellent and the ladies serving it were great.
We WILL be staying here again and highly recommend Marker 8.

The people at the front desk were very welcoming. The bathrooms were mildewed and in bad shape. Baseboards broken plastic trim on the shower coming off, etc. The makeup towels contained makeup from previous guests. There was no hot water in the morning. When I addressed the clerk she was aware of these issues. The breakfast and the staff were excellent.
