Ive stayed here twice now and both stays were lovely. Its right on the beach, and also has a pool. Charming and tropical. I will be back!

Pros: easy check in, friendly service, good drinks at the bar, right on the beach, with loungers available. Clean rooms. Secure parking with easy in and out. Close to Jaco walk with restaurants and shopping available. Cons: the AC didn't work in the room so the first night was miserable. The room was dated, with broken outlet covers, no bulb in the lamp, and generally tired looking. This was room 118 on the first floor. The staff moved us to another room the next morning, room 223. This was in much better condition and had a balcony with a view of the ocean. Breakfast was included but not great. We didn't have any meals on site. Overall a decent stay. I don't know if we will return to this property. It did the job for one and a half days.

We loved our stay at Hotel South Beach! The location with the bar right on the beach was perfect for us. It is on the quieter end of the beach which we loved. Danny and Efran were so hospitable and kind. We enjoyed spending our nightcap with Danny at the end of long days of beach and adventure. The vibe here is so relaxed and laid back. The value of the hotel cannot be beat.

Excellent location on south side of Jaco. Very quiet and peaceful. Beach is amazing! Staff is very good. They are friendly and helpful. Our garden view room was spacious. Pool was a good size so never felt crowded. Walking distance to a few local restaurants. Food at hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.

It was a welcome sight to check into this hotel right on the beach, after a long day of travel. The restaurant on the property has excellent food as well. Thank you to the staff for making this a comfortable stay.

It was a beautiful property, the rooms were nice and clean. Felt very safe there and the staff were very warm and helpful. Made it easy for us to catch the bus to Orontina right outside the hotel. The only things that kinda sucked was the bar closed early and so we brought our own drinks but they didn’t have any ice. The front desk said we could get ice at the restaurant but when we went to get ice there, they said sorry we don’t have any. Luckily the fridge in the room worked but wasn’t easy to take our cooler to the beach because it’s so hot!

We absolutely love the location of this hotel on the beach! Walking the beach at 6 AM is a must. The staff was excellent and friendly. We were in the lower unit, and the only downside is that we had a very noisy people stomping around above us until midnight, but I think that it was perfect..

The best thing about this property was the location. It's right on the beach, with a pool, free breakfast and bar. The property itself was average. The staff was friendly. The room needed updating. You could feel the springs in the beds and the sheets were smelly. The bathroom is sufficient, but small. I wouldn't stay here again.

Our stay was good. Pros: beach front, good food, good air conditioning, seems secure Cons: could use a little maintenance, food is a little over priced, shower with inconsistent water temperature, some workers were not very kind

Stayed here Fri-Mon in December and it was overall good . Check in was easy and the staff was welcoming. There is parking available on site that is guarded . The room we stayed in was the first room in the garden view area. The room has AC , TV, fridge and 2 full size beds. The room was outdated , a light fixture by the door had a broken cover so it was a bit blinding ,but we did not spend much time in the room .The bathroom could’ve been cleaner with little effort but it could be due to it having only a screen and no window. Make sure to BRING your WASH RAGS & hairdryer. I borrowed a hair dryer from the front desk but had to return .They provide beach towels , ice and complimentary break fast. All the plants on the hotel site were beautiful and taken care of . The Food was delicious ! Pool was nice , not deep with a cute waterfall. The beach bar was convenient and great ! The hotel being on the beach front was everything! They have security guards in the entrance and beach entrance which made me feel safe. 15 minute walk to Jaco Strip . There are activities such as horse back riding next door and surf lessons on site available. There are a lot of rocks on the beach which hurt to walk on so bring water shoes . Beautiful view of sunset while sitting on the lawn chairs. We had a Red Iguana visit us in front of our rooms tree 😁. Cute hotel pets were on site . Thank you for the Great stay !

This was a lovely property. I wished there were more hooks in the rooms to hang wet bathing suits etc. Also I wish there was a changing daily special on the menu so that the food does not get dull after a few days.

Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. Beach views were awesome and the entire resort was fabulous with beautiful tropical plants throughout. They assisted us with our excursions.

South Beach is an ok option in Jaco. 1km away from the noisy downtown it is still near enough to enjoy its restaurants and shops. Rooms are wide and quiet but the whole place is old and I find it overpriced (as most hotels in Costa Rica by the way). Beach is nice, clean and ok for amateur surfing. Beware of the pebbles & stones to walk into the ocean. Staff is very amicable !

I loved the vibes of this place. Very unpretentious and accepting. The surf shop by the bar was very convenient. I guess for some people the age of the property might be a problem but I felt that added to the character. All the plants in the landscaping make it feel like you're staying in a jungle which I loved!

Great stay! Service was top tier, food was delicious, drinks were perfect and you can’t beat the view. Bedroom accommodations were basic and the pillows were very flat, but the rooms were clean and you don’t want to spend much time in there any way! We enjoyed walking the property, drinking the most delicious pina coladas beach front, and walking the coast. The staff was so very kind and welcoming.

Well the pool is nice. That’s was the good. Rooms are very outdated and bathroom is dark and musty. No hot water in sink and shower leaves much to be desired. Bed linens are horrible and smelled. Oh is that cockroach poop behind the beds or what? Wait staff barely cordial (bartender to restaurant). Surfing school and board rental guys are rude. Did not feel welcome. Breakfast was below average. Reception ladies were WONDERFUL!

What we loved most was the staff!! Yoshua and all of the staff made our anniversary stay amazing! The hotel is an older boutique hotel with lots of charm. The staff kept it very clean and they were always kind and friendly!! There is a restaurant on site as well as an oceanside bar... It is located approximately 3 minutes (driving) to tons of food and shopping if you leave the property. If I return to Jaco I will choose to stay there once again, I Highly recommend to everyone!!! I highly recommend the South Beach hotel. From their location on the beach to their comfortable accommodations --it beats the competition for the price. In particular, what sets this hotel apart is their warm welcoming receptionist, Deykell, who is not only a terrific receptionist, but also can serve as a concierge-speaking both Spanish and English fluently. This is definitely a great place to stay if you are English speaking only.

Awesome little Surfer hotel right on the beach. Amazing staff, great food, fun beach bar. Very authentic Costa Rican experience, which I very much preferred over the fancy hotel down the street. Amazing surfing too.

Located directly on the beach with a nice little sitting area overlooking the beach, the pool was nice. The food was good. The beds were a little hard for my liking, but that’s just my preference. It was a 15 minute walk to town and the bus stop to Manuel Antonio was only one block up the street.a little dated, but you get what you pay.

The hotel is old. Our first room the air conditioning didn’t work. They moved us to third floor and the room was nicer and cleaner. But the hotel feels like a nice cabina at the price of a nice hotel.
