The hotel is lovely . Clean and comfortable,i did have a problem when i went to the bar during the day for a drink ....staff member was on phone call ( to work related staff i believe not personal call ) but failed to acknowledge me or serve me so i went across the road to the shop instead !
Pool is clean and well maintained .lots of beds
Going across to different restaurant for meals is unusual and they only supply small plates but plenty of choice and well stocked . Would book again if price was reasonable

Good room with a sea view nice breakfast clean room and really close to the beach what do you want more? It was lovely.

We are an older couple who were visiting Santa Ponsa, for a 4 day stay, at the time of the 2026 total solar eclipse.
We had chosen Hotel Playas Del Rey because of its location in the resort, hoping that, from the balcony of the seaview room we had booked, we would be able to view the total eclipse before the sun disappeared behind the distant hills.
Our expectations were exceeded. We had a perfect view of the solar eclipse from its start until the sun set a few minutes after the time of the total eclipse.
The room was very clean with a comfortable bed, good shower and very effective air conditioning.
Staff were really helpful and pleasant.
Our breakfast was served in a sea view restaurant very close to the hotel. It’s was good, not brilliant - but that was ok.
There was a nice pool good for swimming or just cooling off and it was easy to find sun loungers or chairs with a parasol,
The hotel is about a 3-4 minute walk from the beach. The street which the hotel is in has a number of restaurants, bars and small supermarkets so, for us its location was perfect.
