The Hoxton was very nice. Has lots of on-site things to do and was a great resource online to discover places to see in Portland. Their staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was an easy process and the hotel has a key card application to get to your floor for safety.

Staff were friendly great hosts, very clean and so much within walking distance that didn’t even get vehicle from valet for our three day stay. Will definitely stay there as our downtown go to next time

We really enjoyed our stay! We will be returning again!

The front desk was great. I forgot his name but he was warm and welcoming. Gave helpful suggestions of places to try and was great. The room clean and great. The only downs were the bathroom smelt of a moldy smell. It looked clean and everything but just had a of smell. The only other thing was the bed wasn’t very comfortable. We were just in town 1 night for a nearby concert and even after getting back tired after midnight it was difficult to get comfortable and get much sleep.

We were seeing a show a few blocks away. The room was great.

Super classy. Well decorated. It very much reminds me of the hotel in the show Altered Carbon. Super secure. I tried to go to the speakeasy. It seemed like exactly what I wanted. The guy at the door decided that I was not supposed to be there. Even though I had been sent over by the front desk. Yebin assured me that there was no reason for him to block me like that. Yebin tried to be so helpful and gave me a free drink, but they treated me like I was a bum and refused to honor it. I bought a drink anyway. Then I went upstairs to get dinner. Nice place, great food. They also didn’t honor my free drink. Dinner was good. I cannot understand why, when I’m spending 100$ a night, I’m treated like I don’t belong there. It’s almost perfect. Rooms were well done imo. Perfect use of the space. The staff, with the exception of Yebin and the valets, needs to learn how to treat hotel guests. It’s almost fantastic

Great location and suggestions on what to do in the area. Parking is a little rough on weekend however valet service is available. Chill vibe and no modern space. I have the shoe box room and concept is just cool and collective.

Very clean and comfortable. The room was a bit small but overall a nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly and responsive.

I loved the look and feel, it was very cozy, unique, and interesting. All the staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. I also like the hotel company’s intentionality toward sustainability and community support. I would definitely stay again. I only wish parking wasn’t so expensive.

Clean, comfortable beds and the best shower! Unique touches in the rooms including “antique” style phone and radio. Really classy. Nice rooftop bar too!

Loved the hotel! Very cute room. The area is pretty sketchy though, felt kind of forced to Valet which was $52 a day extra plus tips.

Not the best Hoxton in the whole worldwide chain. The interior design isn't bad, but the detailing looks a bit fake. Terrible area around the hotel overcrowded by homeless people.

The biggest issue is the room itself. A standard room of a 130 square feet with a view on a wall. A room of one bed and a restroom, that is it. I think this is the worst experience of staying in hotels I ever had in my entire life. One night costs ~220$ for 2 people 50 parking a night. I don’t get what’s the price for?? Don’t ever come here…

I spent one night at the Hoxton andy main consideration was its location, which was perfect for me. I was pleasantly surprised to find a cool, clean hotel with super friendly staff. Rooms are ample size, clean, retro-modern.

I was in a cozy room and it was tiny and noisy. The heater made a racket. Shower design meant water fell
Outside the shower, making bathroom wet and slippery.

The hotel is excellent, the decor is lovely, and the staff is accommodating. I was expecting the hotel to be lively like Chicago but was pretty calm including when we grabbed cocktails on the rooftop bar/restaurant.
There are lots of homeless around the area with tents in the area along with shelters a few blocks away. Several people we passed on the streets were doing drugs and there were several cars with broken windows.
I'm from Chicago and while I cant say I'm not familiar with homelessness, the area was almost like coming towards Skid Row in LA. Just be aware of yourself while in close vicinity.
BUT no more than a 10-minute walk you find yourself in a better area with stores like Reformation, CB2, and Whole Foods.

Air conditioner was very noisy in room 702, so we had to turn it off. Otherwise good

The hotel lobby and the room was amazing. But out the doors to walk your dog and its not safe!!!!

The hotel is eclectic, mid century meets industrial. My room was quiet and comfortable with all of the creature comforts. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean. I would stay there again.

My only complaint was that we could not get more than 3 channels to work on the tv. Which usually wouldn’t matter but our concert was canceled so we planned on just staying in and relaxing. We also didn’t ask for help to get it fixed though because we were too lazy. 😂 overall great stay!

Perfect property in any size room.

I felt like for the price, it should’ve been in a better area. There was lots of drug users around the property. The hotel itself was nice, and staff was professional but not that helpful.

Nice hotel, good experience. Neighborhood a little gritty, but convenient to most things.

This is my favorite hotel in Portland. Great food options. The coffee shop is fantastic. Great lounge and work areas. The DJ on Wednesday night was amazing.

Let's be frank about this The Portland Hoxton is in a tricky location on the very edge of abandoned, ravaged China Old Town. That said the various security/safety systems in place seem sufficient. Things I love are the art, the morning soundtrack at the cafe, the coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. I choose the Hoxton because it was walking distance to my three day class at OCOM. And I really couldn't be happerier

The drug problem is a clear issue for this community. We had concerns leaving our car and walking across the street. It’s prolific.

I had an excellent stay at the Hoxton - the staff was very helpful and friendly, and it had everything I needed for the weekend.

I’ve stayed here a few times in the last 2.5 years and the hotel itself has already been great. The design, the staff - perfect. The rooms are priced right and this isn’t too far from Powells and other attractions. The area around it was very challenged with visible homelessness during the worst of the pandemic but it seems to have improved a lot in the last year.

We knew we would be downtown and that there are a lot of transients in the area so when we could hear them on the streets at night while sleeping we were expecting it, but other visitors who arent familiar with this area may feel uncomfortable. We never felt unsafe though.

Not a neighborhood for families. Feels unsafe. Little neighborhood food after 6pm. Hotel is cool. Music from the rooftop bar went until 3am, felt the vibration 6 floors down. No sleep. We left early.

This is an awesome location and super cute hotel. So cool and hip and fun. The area is great too

I am not going to write anything negative about the Hoxton. The staff was wonderful, and the place was immaculate. The restaurant on the roof was excellent and unique. I do want to tell people to do your research on that part of downtown Portland before going. I want businesses to survive and stay in Portland, but the city needs to do something about the crime rate and making people feel safe. We were scared the entire time we were outside of the Hoxton and for good reason. Again, please do your research before going.

Room was nice. Couldn’t check out. Sign said back in five minutes - no one ever came. Other guests left. I had to pay through a separate app for my car and it was returned damaged. Valet said the person who valet’d my car the day before had just started and it was his first day on the job. Valet suggested that I buff it out with wax and steel wool. Watched me load the bags in the car and then offered to help. After we left and we’re on the freeway, he called to say he’d left his key card in my car and asked if I could turn around and drop it back off at the hotel. Before this, I asked someone from the cafe to find staff to check us out. Took a total of almost 30 minutes of standing in the lobby. A kitchen staff person showed up but said she couldn’t help. One couple then left and one guy returned a charger to the front desk as he’d been waiting a while. No recompense for damaging my car, no filing a report, nothing. Hotel has significant staff issues they need to work out.

Generally an okay hotel with nice in-room features. Downsides are an incredibly noisy a/c unit that you cannot turn off and a window that faces a brick wall. Unfortunately, the a/c kept me up all night.
