I had to check out an hour after arriving because the room hadn’t been cleaned. There were crumbs in all corners of the floor, blood stains on the bed, brown splatter on the mirror & walls & phone. The phone didn’t work & there was a fire detector dangling from the ceiling. They didn’t have a different room to offer me so I had to book elsewhere.
When I spoke with the front desk to resolve this - I asked for Lysol wipes so I could at least wipe the room down myself and was handed two rags & a bottle of cleaning solution because there was no staff on site to clean the room properly. I cleaned up what I could then still decided I didn’t feel safe staying there.

The service was excellent but the room was not like pictured. There were ants in our room crawling on the tables and windows. The room and hotel are outdated

Well, I went cheap and we got what we paid for! The front desk staff was kind and inviting at check in, but that’s where the positives end. As we walked down the hallway to our room, the smell of cigarettes, food and pot were overwhelming. In a few areas I saw glade room deodorizers cones scattered around in an attempt to cover the smells. Upon entry to our room the smells only intensified with the main area smelling like fast food grease and the bathroom reeking of a STRONG cigarette smell. The first person who entered the bathroom walked right back out and said, “I think someone JUST smoked in there!” In addition to the smells, there was nail polish stains on the bedside stand, multiple buttons broken off the clock (which was completely wrong and we couldnt change it. See previous statement) the window seat was scattered with visible stains in the upholstery. We had to “sleep” with the window open due to the smells. I put sleep in quotes, due to the fact that no one in our party could relax between the overall discomfort from being in the space and the frequent honking horn that went off 3-4 times throughout the night. We didn’t even bother eating the breakfast and recommend that you don’t either! I recommend you spend 30-40 dollars more and have a whole heck of a more comfortable stay somewhere else!

The sheets were dirty when we showed up and at the time there was only one person there so they gave us the sheets to change ourselves

The room was full of roaches, so bad that the window unit was thick with roach bodies that put out an odor when turned on.
The evening desk clerk could not speak any English. I had a difficult time relaying to her that I needed to stay an extra day. Thank goodness I checked with the overnight clerk about the arrangements. Their breakfast consisted of muffins and toast.

The lights over the desk didn’t work. The remote control to the tv didn’t work. The ac/heater unit was filthy. They allow pets and you could hear them.
2.0
The room had rust spots on countertops, dirt on the floor, what seemed to be a stain on the sheets, and there was so much loud talking in the halls. I’ve stayed at plenty of Microtels before and never had an experience like this one.

It's a very old building and needs a lot of updates. The carpets are old And the rooms are very small. I've seen other poor reviews saying that the rooms were very dirty, but my room wasn't bad. It was clean and I will say they didn't have any bugs and that's one of the first things I checked when I get to any hotel room. It was a place to sleep since I was on a quick road trip down to see the caverns. I will say it was a great price.

Location wasn't horrible. Staff was very very friendly! Rooms are no frills and quite basic but no major issues. Seems to be an old building but they've tried to do some updates to.

The halls were dirty. The rooms were small and tight. Some of the outlet plugs did not work. One room did not have shampoo in the shower. The service was very slow. They had a tiny tiny refrigerator overall, this is below my expectations. I do not recommend this place.

The hotel looked run down. Heat was not on in room at all when I got there. It was 3 degrees outside. Room super small, barely enough room to walk around bed. No closet or place to hang up clothes. Microwave in the lobby not in room?! Phone dead! Had to go to lobby to get assistance. I decided not to stay at hotel it was not acceptable. Front desk clerk very accommodating and pleasant and canceled my reservation.

I have stayed there many times when I go to Kentucky from Chicago, the room smelled very bad, the bathroom was dirty and I found something unusual in the bathtub, I have photos that I will provide you... I may never stay with you again.

Heater didn't work told front desk and they basically lied. Said someone was coming never did, didn't move me, or offer extra blankets. Luckily I had a electric blanket. Then housekeeping was very rude by banging on the door scaring my lady. I gave him a few choice words too. Used to love this place, but if I experience a no heat situation again, with nothing being done about it, I will demand a full refund.

Cleaning service and fresh towels - ONLY IF YOU ASKED FOR IT. REALLY! Never saw the same desk clerk twice. Pointed out back door had been propped wide open with trash can on 2nd night. Why didn't desk clerk check on cold air screaming in? Hallway reeked of smoke even with door wide open.

Have stayed at a microtel so very surprised to find our three nights stay uncomfortable. Room very outdated sparse & extremely small making it difficult for my husband to get around with his walker. Was suppose to have an accessible room but was told it was not available & not understanding staff explanation, was told that I could go somewhere else. My question to you would be how since we had until Nov 9, to cancel. Elevator not working, staff said they didn't know when it would be fixed, bed felt like cardboard. If staff told us a different time for breakfast we did not hear so was going off card in the room which said it was 6:30-9:30, went around 8:55 only to be told when I asked if we could get milk, food that breakfast officially ending at 9:00 so they wouldn't be putting anything else out. Someone there said yes we have been telling them to change the room signs. This left us having a difficult time locating places that were not filled to get something to eat. Flushed toilet then noticed everything came back up, tried two more times before contacting front desk, no phone or any kind of directory in the room. Used cell only to be told that they I could come to the lobby bathroom & get a plunger which I attempted to do, waited while staff went & got one, was told to put it back in the bathroom when I was done. Will say that room, bathroom, lobby, breakfast area clean

After reading the previous reviews I thought this would be an affordable place to stay with my children after a long day's drive. When I went to check in we drove by what I'm pretty sure was a drug deal going down. The "lobby" was small, dingy and 'sketch'. My gut was saying to back out but I went ahead and checked in. Paint was peeling off the walls, the bathroom toilet was stained, the covers had stains on them, and the beds, which were supposed to be Queens but looked way smaller, were extremely lumpy (just by looking at them, I wouldn't let the kids sit on the beds). We left immediately, and unfortunately expedia wouldn't refund our money, so I ended up losing $117 for this trash, and paid another $160 for a much nicer Hampton Inn. Yikes.

Breakfast could be improved, but otherwise very comfortable and clean room!

I have stayed at this hotel every year for the last 15 years. It has declined substantially. The carpet has not been cleaned. The elevator does not work. Residents are noisy at night, compelling me to call the front desk every night and ask for them to quiet down. The shower in my room did not work. I will not be coming back.

The carpet vould have been cleaner. Everything else was clean.

Staff very friendly. Didn’t clean the room. Had to get our towels, soap, etc

The staff was great, except my door had an issue of locking which I brought to the staff's attention. Lot of the interior was really run down. The cleaning people were very noisy. Some strange person wearing a hoody went around knocking on every door, didn't feel safe. Did not feel great about seeing a cockroach.

The nonsmoking room we had smelled like stale cigarettes. The “breakfast” was cereal or muffins or yogurt, no eggs or breakfast meats.

We were in town to get our RV repaired on our way home to Wyoming. Front desk was helpful and nice. He had menus from a local pizza place that delivered - which was helpful. Room was clean (we travel with our dog), and accessibility to outside was easy. Coffee in the morning was appreciated along with bagels and cream cheese (among other items). Overall, if we ever find ourselves in Louisville, would stay again.

I like Microtel for a quick overnight stay when driving.
Pleasantly surprised by the area and the convenience of walking for a late supper.AND there were sidewalks.

The actual room was clean enough. Lobby and hallways were in desperate need of new carpet (or at least cleaning) and paint! This is a budget friendly hotel but I’d not stay in this place again. The area had several hotels so it was safe enough. TINY breakfast area.

Great location. Friendly stuff. Great price. Quiet. Nice breakfast and good coffee.
Room was good size compared to other Microtel that I’ve stayed. Perfect for a short solo trip.
Only down parts were,
no hangers in room. The rep checked but he couldn’t find any extra… so I had to go shopping to get some.
Toilet sheet slide out.

Place is ok but it needs to be updated.
3.0
It was an ok place to stay for just a night or two but for a stay any longer than that it’s not a very good place to stay. The beds are hard, so are the pillows. I had a room on the first floor and the noise level was horrible. People stomping above me and down the hall kept me awake. The walls and ceilings must be paper thin. The place needs updated terribly. Looks nothing like what is advertised. Continental breakfast is awful and I witnessed staff putting out bagels and muffins with his bare hands that were dirty looking, by the way, and also the hand he was putting them out with had a dirty bandaid on one finger. I’m here for work and work night shift as a travel nurse and staff banged on my door 3 separate times in one day (the same person) while I was trying to sleep. The first time he told me it was time for me to check out, even though I had reservations for 2 more days and the other two times he was actually wanting another room. Overall, my stay wasn’t very great, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you are planning on staying longer than one night. The only upside to this place is it’s pricing is decent most of the time, unless you come here on a weekend and there’s an event occurring in town, then you will pay double or triple their normal price for one night!
