This hotel was disgusting! I booked it on Hotels.com & it was nothing like the pictures. The floors were dirty, the bathtub was dirty and also very soft. The bathtub felt like it was about to fall through any minute. The door handle to the balcony was literally falling out of the door! Along with that, the entrance door had spaces inbetween the door and the frame. I was waiting to wake up in the middle of the night with a lizard on my chest, because it could’ve easily made its way through. They make you sign a bunch of papers before going to your room, so you probably couldn’t even possibly get your money back. The sink was corroded as well. The elevator was sketchy, and didn’t have the correct paperwork required inside. Room 259.

Pretty old and dirty. Uncomfortable beds and not enough towels or pillows for the amount of guests. Huge party hotel that is loud and gross.

It was nice, but it was. The decor was kind of old, but it was a nice place it was the bed was comfortable. The view was great of the Gulf

The bath tub could’ve used a bit more attention when cleaning and the couch had a strange smell, but overall the room and bed were clean so for a place to sleep after a day on the beach, you can’t beat the price!

Do not go here they have bedbugs

The staff was super kind and wonderful however the room was terrible and not at all as depicted on the site. The shower was broken, the room was filthy and still had trash in it and the floors and bathroom were disgusting. We were just passing through so we made it work. The location is great being right on the beach.

My stay was awful. 1st room water was dripping out of light over sink was told it was leaking from 4th floor was not safe for us to be there. 2nd room the shower water knob was gone could not take a shower and the toilet was not even bolted down. So it was in safe for us to be in that room too. 3rd room we were moved from bottom floor to second floor a cheaper room the bathtub was so nasty and stained had pubic hairs in it. Balcony door had two door knobs and it still did not shut all the way. The entire hotel freaked of marijuana. They were so many kids outside rooms smoking it. It was horrible smelled like a skunk due to the smell of weed being smoked reported it and they said oh well.

Like the place, I’ve stayed previously and there is room for improvement but overall great for the price. Areas with improvements are. Elevator condition and cleanliness would improve the stay/family comfort of safety and physical appearance. Parking rules are a bit much to have to buy a pass for a rental (golf cart) but not only pay but have to park it to what seems a mile away still makes no sense to pay and park far. But loved we had a private balcony and street view without breaking the bank

Super price, excellent in all catagories. I will be back.

Reviews were not good but once I actually stayed was really good for the price. A little out dated but beds were convertible and shower was good! View of the beach was great! Would definitely stay again!

Difficulty parking because the hotel shares a parking lot with a restaurant. Front desk clerk was snobby and rude.

Room was extremely dirty, if I had not been so tired I would have looked for something else. Mold on ceiling you could see dirt on baseboards without trying. Only 1 towel an 1 wash cloth in room. Won’t say or recommend that place again.

I truly enjoyed my stay
The bed was extremely comfy… great view.. staff was super friendly and personable…
The only negative thing was a stain on one of the chairs in the room… Other than that it was superb… I definitely won’t be coming back

The property was conveniently located to Sharky’s. We didn’t actually stay at The Reef because it was closed. We were moved to Seahaven’s neighboring property, and although in a great location need attention.

I would NEVER recommend this hotel and I promise I will never stay again. Pictures on the Hotels.com site certainly do NOT match actual location. No hand towels, no washcloths, only two towels, DIRTY FLOORS. Tv picked up several channels, however, the “snow” (lack of proper connection), you couldn’t see anything. Mold under the open sink, bathroom door didn’t close or lock. Main door came open somehow while we were not in the room. Staff at check-in was RUDE. Had a staff member not even waiting on me tell me to calm down and I had not gotten out of shape. I was having a conversation with the lady checking me in. No check in on site, you have to go down the street. HORRIBLE!!!!

Nice hotel directly on the beach. You can tell the hotel was slightly impacted by a few hurricanes. The couch and chairs have seen better days, but the mattress are new. Overall its a decent place to stay with a beautiful pool and relaxation area. I would return and spend longer than a night if the opportunity for a vacation came about versus a business trip.

You get what you pay for I guess. Never in my life have I stayed someplace so awful. Words can’t really explain how awful this place is. If your 21 and on Spring Break than I guess this is your spot. I actually bought bed sheets at Walmart. That’s how dirty this place seemed. Glad to be gone!

The view of the ocean is amazing!

Amazing place to stay!! Sharky’s is right next door so you never have to worry about finding a good meal or delicious drink……Aside from the very minor parking issues I encountered which this was all during biker week. I have absolutely no complaints. Clean rooms Very helping and friendly staff at every place you visit. Beautiful and clean beaches with incredible views!!! The Reef will be my number one go-to place to stay every time I visit

Great view. Bathrooms need updating, but they were clean. For the price I have no complaints.

The staff was nice. The elevator was not trustworthy. Had to park away from the hotel due to bike week. There was no on site parking for paid customers. Also the pictures on the site didn't mach the actual room

Convenient.
I Didn't like the elevator. It was slow 🐌.

The reef was a great place to stay at a great price point and super convenient! Definitely needs attention to some of the finer details like the air conditioner housings and the elevator floor, but overall, it was well worth the money! The view from my room was absolutely spectacular!

I enjoyed my stay. The only thing I didn’t like was the limited parking!

Upon check in we was greeted by Debby and she was wonderful getting us a room early. Our room was dirty with toilet paper holder broken and bath tub so bad it really needed to be replaced and looked terrible. Parking was ridiculous and a constant struggle. Fortunately, the price was so good that with the view and beach access it was still worth it and we would book again.

Just great stay

There was not a working toilet in the pool area so having to go to your room is an inconvenience

I liked the beach access and how close it was to Sharky’s. I didn’t the fridge in the room and the beds.

No management - no accessibility - dirty room - broken door lock. All lamps unplugged and no plugs for them. Tv distorted picture - AC didn’t work - room smelled bad - woke up with literal spiders on me in the bed and left after 5 hours rest. Won’t be back!

Possibly the worst hotel I ever stayed in.The Reef shares a parking lot with Sharkey's a popular restaurant. Upon arrival, had to cruise around the lot a few times before finding a space (this held true for the two days I was there).
Then the office at the Reef is closed - you check in a block up the road. Walk the block, check in (lady was nice, anyway), walk back, unpack the car and learn the elevator is out of order. I'm on the 4th floor.
Climb the stairs, get into the room - no towels. Have to walk back to the check in office. Shift change, nice lady gone, dour lady now working. Mumbles short, one word answers, no eye contact, seems annoyed.
Back to the room - it's an abomination. "Tired" would be a generous description. Socket hanging out of the wall, rusty AC unit (saw a few tiny ants on it), sounds like screeching leaf blower every time it clicks on. TV was unwatchable - all fuzzy. Conversations audible in next room, bed had a valley on either side, speed bump in the middle. Between AC unit and bed, sleep was not good.
Room was marginally clean - housekeeping left a broom and dustpan behind, in case I wanted to pitch in, I suppose - but outside open air walkways were/are filthy. Stairways, which we had to use while elevator was out, were completely dark and hazardous.
This is strictly a cash grab operation, with no regard or respect for their guests.

No one in the lobby ever, no coffee in the mornings, no linens "Were told there was none"....Had to supply our own toilet paper, we went to Wal Mart to buy both, parking is a nightmare, do not recommend, I visit Panama City Beach alot don't stay here.

The Maintenance worker banged on my door at 7 am waking me up. And did it again at 8 check out was at 10 am and at 945am he came back up banged on my door again when I was getting ready to leave. He got verbally confrontational when I said I was dissatisfied. Then threatened me, i said I was going to talk to the manager. Then he and another maintenance work followed me to my vehicle continued to shout at me cursing. I have it all on video, and went to the manager at the front desk. Then the maintenance followed me inside the building cursing. They did absolutely nothing to assist and then the maintenance works kept on. I will no longer recommend this place and I gave them a good review prior because the servers at the front desk were great and helpful. However the threats from there maintenance was distasteful and obscene.

Very slow checkin. I was given the wrong room and then was told after waiting for 1hr that they couldn’t refund the amount between room cost. Finally got checked in to the correct room at 8pm.

Honestly this is the grossest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Please listen to the reviews! We decided to overlook them for the “okay” price for an ocean view and ended up having a horrible experience. Our first room had bugs everywhere, no towels and a toilet that back flushed debris. After being moved to a second room, bugs were still heavily present, there was no shower head and the tub temperature knobs were gone, trash left in the room and on the porch, and still no towels. Ended up getting a refund and driving around until we found another hotel. Staff was not apologetic at all for the inconvenience. Also check in was at a different location down the road. Would’ve been nice to know that up front.
