First of all the main bathroom didn’t not work the entire stay. I called the front desk they sent someone to fix it but he stated that he didn’t have the part to fix it. I had a cracked window in one of the bedrooms, the kitchen chairs were broken, the ladder on the bunk bed at screws missing so it was loose, the refrigerator was leaking water and when I checked out they never apologized or offered me anything I called them and took pictures when I noticed the defects they never offered to change my cabin or nor did they offer me any compensation. I will never and I mean never come back to this place

Good family weekend get away! Just wish the hot tub would have been working. Been here a handful of times and each time it didn’t work. Also the WiFi didn’t work most of the time but we managed without it. Place has great amenities for the price. And the restaurant was very good. The water park bathrooms need some TLC. Overall though very pleased.

The food at Jack's place wasn't great. I would of like to know that it was a charge for the breakfast it was expensive. I am glad the IT guy fixed the TV. The water park was pretty rough. The room overall was comfortable and great. But that is it hotel part of the resort was the great part. The cafe had better food and the prices were affordable. I expected more from a resort but it did not meet my expectations.

Overall, the kids enjoyed this trip. Our family of 5 stayed in the Villas. The wifi was a disaster. It worked property about 25% of the time. With young kids, this can be extremely frustrating. They give hardly any toilet paper, bath towels and garbage bags. Be prepared to need more. Mostly, my biggest frustration was the customer service. And don't get me wrong- we had great interactions with many of the staff. However, we had a disappointing encounter on day 3 as we entered the pool. Upon checkin you're given wristbands. Literally nothing else was ever communicated to us about needed different wristbands each day of your stay. And quite frankly it was not an issue on day 2. We swam all day with the wrong wristbands and no one said a thing to us. So on day 3 as the kids are entering into the pool, we were told to turn around and report back to the lobby for new wristbands. I had no idea what they were talking about. We had been wearing the same wristbands for 3 days and this was the first we heard of any of this. So i told the girl the kids weren't going to turn around at this point to go back to the main lobby, I could get them for us all. Another lifeguard came to talk to me afterwards. She acknowledged the communication with front desk was not the greatest and that they were short staffed, which is apparently how we had slipped through for 3 days with the wrong bands.

Waterpark was freezing, most of the wateroark amenities were diwn, they akso closed tge entire wateroark rest of the weekend with no notice.

Nothing at the water park works the whole water park got shut down as soon as my family and I checked in. Everything is closed on Mondays, so it’s not point in going there on a Monday it’s a waist of money! The breakfast is to high and only has a couple items on the breakfast buffet.

Water park way over crowded ran out of towels both days. No place to sit or put you things. Kids crafts where horrible. Kids ran up and down halls all hours screaming. We had 2 rooms 1st room tv was so old it barley worked beds where broken down so uncomfortable and shower barley trickled water. 2nd room remote had to be replaced 2 xs before it worked. The tub held water after shower drain plugged up nasy foot of water had to drain before next person could use it. Food was way over priced no flavor. Very run down. Sunday the pool was closed down all together. Big bucket was broken down for 2nd year in row. Very under staffed unfriendly on site general store no inventory. And the beds are olds lumpy bad pillows horrible would not recommend at all. Big let down for over priced lodging

We were there to celebrate my sons birthday. Upon arrival (over 1.5 hrs drive) we were told waterpark wouldn’t be open till Thursday and were told they couldn’t do a cancellation.

The waterpark and arcade closed at four on Sunday Sunday and we were not made aware by the website or the hotel. Why would we book a room somewhere for our kid to play if he can’t play? The waterpark staff member, Emma screamed @ us out and told us to eat her ass.

Was charged $211 for a room that was quoted less than $100 Lady on the phone was rude as well as the front desk. I get nothing was open because of the season so that okay the water park was irrelevant but being charged 200 for one night at a place that was supposed to be a resort but not even getting a tv remote in the room is a bit strange lol. Overall id just go anywhere else unless youre okqt with rudness and everything being closed but them not telling you till they take your money..

Unfortunately our visit coincided with the extremely COLD weather of January 2024.Because the resort was no where near capacity, the restaurants were not open every day. When we did dine at Jake's, the service & food were good. We dd not avail ourselves of the water park, but those who did seemed to be enjoying themselves. Suggestion was made that we return in the summer.when all activities are available. We still enjoyed ourselves. Our ratings are based on the weather factor.

We had a mouse in the villa we were staying at, talked to a staff member was told that maintenance will be there first thing in the morning no one cane checked out and wont be thinking about going back ever again.

Villa was nice but could use a little maintenance the downstairs shower was horrible no pressure at all and in the upstairs king bed room the hide a bed on the sofa was broke but they did have an areo bed so we just use that for our grandson to sleep on everything else was excellent. We had a very great time in the water park but it did look as if it could use a good cleaning but our overall stay we all had a good time.

I liked that the property was neat Starved Rocks State Park. The water park was only partially running and the resturaunt and bar were closed. The water smelled terrible in the room.

Location was fabulous. Our toddler enjoyed the water park but it was pretty dirty. The villa was very spacious but also dirty…had mice poop and spider webs. Needed to be updated badly.

DO NOT GO HERE during off season and Monday - Thursday, everything is closed, Pool, inside Bar, Outside Mini Golf, Ice Cream, Arcade Room, EVERYTHING. Plus breakfast is a box breakfast.

The people that work at this resort are fantastic--it's like they are all owners. So accommodating and really, really nice. Great location for all the hiking. Great activities for kids. Loved our two days.

I would never go back. The pictures they post are far from the reality. The waterpark was dirty, bathroom was filthy and the door of the stall wouldn’t close, no privacy to change clothes. The water had so much chlorine that our eyes were itching. The lifeguard was constantly blowing the whistle. We had the villa and it was really outdated and dirty. Carpet had stains and if you walk barefoot your feet turn black. There were dead bugs and spiders in the bathroom and ants crawling on the kitchen counter. Very old appliances and an empty dish soap dispenser. The pans and cutlery were not washed. Bed sheets had holes in them. Overall bad experience.

The property had ALOT of potential. It was fairly empty there so we were not elbow to elbow in the pool like most places. Hot tub was great but the pool was a little cold. It was apparent that the owners were struggling due to lack of guests. The restaurant wasn't open at all during our 3 day stay although their little cafe was. I suppose it wouldnt have been a problem in an urban area however in this kind of remote area , we had to travel 30 mins for food. Several of the attractions were closed as well such as game room and the wave pool . Staff were pleasant and did the best they could with their budget and minimal staff. I will be more prepared the next time we visit. They need to work on marketing and maintenance of the facilty. For example, our shower had some mold and a bad patching job, pool slide had a crack, pool floor needs repainting and sofa had an iron burn....hotel needs alot of tlc.

Did not know that “calm waters” was active during summer break. Was expecting more activities and food options. Left a day early because my daughter who is pregnant with twins started to not feel good. And NO ONE question why we were leaving early or even if our stay was satisfactory. Total disappointment!!

There were a few things that needed to be replace or upgraded. My son really complained about the let out sofa mattress (hard, lumpy and no padding). He's only 8 but did state how his back/body was sore for sleeping on it. Overall the staff was amazing and very supportive would definitely come back because of the staff but will bring an air mattress next time.

Unfortunately, the amenities were only available thursday through sunday, if i had known prior i wouldnt have booked the property. Due to my schedule we were only able to use the pool on sunday and not also on monday and tuesday as i had planned on.

Checking in great. But just a few minor details. Upstairs shower not working, so has to wait to the next day for maintenance guy to come fix it. Both showers needed the shower curtains to be change. Never came to change them out. Upstairs bathroom door wouldn’t stay close.

A hidden gem that offers a quiet retreat after a long day of hiking. The staff are incredibly kind and accomodating. Some elements of the resort are dated but it adds to the charm of the stay. 10/10 would recommend, great weekend getaway with the family.
