Delightful stay. Very complete breakfast.
I didn't see a mention of stairs only to reach the guest rooms, a problem for some. We need a brighter light available in the room. The bed could be a bit softer.

Beautiful artwork and decorations make this place feel special. Location is quite central. Cheerful friendly staff.
The sink was leaking and spilling all over the place everytime I try to use it which eventually made the bathroom quite messy.

It was clean and well kept. Things were very straightforward and my experience there was great, particularly when it came to staff interaction. Everyone was helpful, providing tips before I even arrived, and remembering my breakfast preferences for the next morning. I will take an artsy and unique interior with super friendly staff who care for the property over a chain brand any day. I also had the special treat of a live Fado show outside of my window. It was a tribute show featuring several different artists. Amazing.
I can’t say that there was anything in particular that I disliked. I chose the location based on different factors. So if I say it felt farther away from central destinations, that’s on me. Everything looks different on a map when you’ve never seen it in person. It wasn’t terrible that things like Castel Sao Jorge and some of the main squares were 15-20 min away by foot. It just felt farther because of the hills. If you want the Alfama experience, stay here. Just know that it might not feel the same as if you were staying on Liberty Ave, since it’s just a different spot.
