About this cabin rental

Unwind at a private waterfront cabin on Blodgett Lake in Meadow Lakes, about an hour from Anchorage.

Comfortably sleeping up to 6 in two bedrooms, this single-level retreat pairs lake and mountain views with lake access, kayaks and paddleboards, a private year-round hot tub, wood-burning fireplace, fast WiFi, and self check-in.

Settle into a cozy single-level lakeside cabin for a romantic escape, family trip, or relaxed group getaway. Large windows frame bright lake views, and the spacious deck features built-in seating, outdoor dining, sun lounger, a BBQ grill, and a private year-round hot tub—an inviting place to unwind beneath the stars.

Sleeping arrangements:
• Smaller bedroom: 1 king bed
• Larger bedroom: 2 queen beds

Inside, enjoy a well-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, hot-water kettle, and dining table.

The cabin also includes a 50-inch Roku TV, books, board games, fast 50 Mbps WiFi, central heating, ceiling and portable fans, and a wood-burning fireplace for supplemental coziness. A free washer and dryer are in the cabin.

In summer, enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, wading, or fishing on the lake. Life jackets in a range of sizes are available and encouraged. Blodgett Lake is home to rainbow trout and pike, and salmon spawn along the shoreline in fall.

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy, including the private entrance, deck, private backyard, lake access, and private hot tub. Self check-in is available via smart lock.

During summer months, you may also access the boat shed, where kayaks, paddleboards, coolers, limited fishing gear, and extra propane are stored. The garage is not available for guest use, and one locked interior closet is reserved for cleaning supplies.

Free parking is available on the premises, with free street parking also available.

A starter kit of essential toiletries is provided. The Roku TV connects to WiFi, so you may sign in with your own streaming-service accounts; cable is not provided.

You are welcome to bring your own watercraft; the lake allows motors up to 10HP. Limited fishing gear in the boat shed—including a small tackle box and one or two fishing poles—is not regularly maintained. Please replenish used supplies or replace anything broken.

Exterior security cameras are on the property. A propane grill is available for guest use; please clean up after using it and never leave it unsupervised.

This is the second time we stayed at this wonderful little cabin and it was just as great the second time. We stayed in late March, early April and snow was still everywhere. My kids loved playing on the frozen lake, looking for our daily visit from a bald eagle, waking up to moose on the lake, the beautiful sunsets from the hot tub and our daily breakfasts together. The location is ideal. It’s not far south from Talkeetna for dog sledding and Denali is just 3 hours away. Hatcher’s Pass is only about 45 minutes northeast of the cabin. Portage is a couple hours away where you can go snow machining to glaciers, visit the Arctic Wildlife Conservation Center, or stop off in Girdwood for the Alyeska Resort for some top notch skiing/snowboarding. Anchorage is only about an hour south if you want to check out the Turnagain Arm and the Cook Inlet. Ice fishing is available all around Wasilla as well. Although technically in Meadow Lakes, Wasilla has plenty of grocery stores and restaurants including a Fred Meyer (Kroger owned) and a Walmart. We highly recommend this wonderful cabin and would love to visit yet again.

The host was welcoming and we were very happy with the condition of the cabin and the amenities that were available to us.

The cabin was clean and comfortable. Our complaint is the large deck area was absolutely covered with debris and pollen from surrounding trees. The hot tub was also very dirty filled with debris.
