It’s a charmingly quaint place run by a small group of friendly women. It was clean and breakfast was served in a small dining room decorated with family memorabillia facing a courtyard filled with flowering plants. 2 dogs and a cat. It felt like a Cusco home. The room had a small ensuite bathroom. Mine faced the courtyard. The road at the front is insanely busy as the place is within walking distance to the main city square, but within the hotel it was quiet: no traffic noise at all.
Not sure whether I liked or disliked this: The women are extremely security conscious and guard their establishment and guests night and day by having a bell in the lobby and one outside at the front door. Guests have to ring these to have one of the women unlock the front door. I never had to wait more that a minute or two for the door to be opened. But I felt like I was imposing on them. However, they rushed to the door with a smile each time, and I knew I was safe inside.
