Having read reviews, we asked to stay in the recently renovated part of the hotel. The decor was still a bit dated/not my style but the place was clean. The staff were super responsive and very nice The views of the castle are really lovely. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was very good. Lots of options to choose from and fresh coffee upon request (don't use the thermos coffee they have set up), ask for a fresh one from the coffee machine :) Beautiful location, a little off the beaten track but an easy walk to the small town. The swimming pool is beautiful and it was the first time we got to swim with a view of vineyards and a small castle :) Despite the things I didn't like, I would consider staying here again, for sure.
The air conditioning didn't really work and the sofa bed (we chose a family room) was REALLY uncomfortable. We did use the bar in the evening and sat on the terrace but the service was hit and miss - we had to often go in search of a waiter/waitress. Not the hotel's fault but the area has very few taxi's so if, like us, you want to eat/drink in a different town that might be a 5 minute drive away, the taxi prices are ridiculous (we got quoted €80). This was too much for just two of us - it'd be different if 4 people are sharing a taxi I guess.

The swimming pool was fantastic, the view of the castle and village was great. Rooms were clean and tidy, if a little basic, and the AC was great in the heat. Reception staff were helpful especially with my complete lack of Italian. We would stay again

Nice location. Nice pool, however not open.
The pool was highlighted when we booked, and in the welcome mail pool opening hours was specifically mentioned. However, the pool was closed the whole weekend due to that it was before 1 June? All guests were very upset and the hotel staff was very unpleasant about it.
Very poor breakfast
Very unpleasant staff
