Location, free swimming pool, free parking, quiet, owner was very friendly and attentive. Gardens. Breakfast was amazing not had a hot breakfast served like that before excellent.
The room had a rather musky smell, and although the bedding appeared clean, it didn’t have a fresh or clean smell to it. There were also quite a few cobwebs around the room and bathroom. I didn’t use the teapot as it had noticeable tea staining.
The room and bathroom were clean but very dated, although this was something I was aware of from the photos on Booking.com, so this wasn’t unexpected.
One thing I was particularly uncomfortable with was seeing another guest bring their dog into the breakfast room. Although the dog remained under the table, the guest had been outside walking the dog and then came directly into the breakfast room with the dog before returning downstairs for breakfast. I personally didn’t feel this was appropriate in an area where food was being served.unless it was a medical dog.
Overall, the main issues for me were the musty smell, cobwebs, stained teapot and the hygiene concern regarding the dog being brought into the breakfast area.
