Great hotel. Very exclusive and quiet. Diogo was excellent at managing all we needed at the hotel. The only curious part we thought it was missing was a landline telephone to connect not only with the hotel (Diogo) but with any emergency service outside the hotel.

We stayed at Montecarmo 12 in early August for four nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a delightful location in the comparatively quiet Principe Real neighborhood, within short walking distance to the Botanical Gardens, numerous restaurants, and the beautiful terrace overlook Miradouro de Sao Pedro de Alcantara, with nightly live music and an outdoor "food court", just on the edge of Alta.
The hotel itself was amazing: we stayed in a Premium Double Room with Terrace with a great view on the third floor. The room was comfortable and nicely equipped, with beautifully tasteful decor. The bathroom was fantastic: dual shower heads, a large tub, and again, beautiful.
The hotel staff were a standout factor for us: from pre-checkin to reception to checkout, the kitchen staff to housekeeping, everyone was wonderful. Esther and Margarida in particular went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, and our anniversary was everything we hoped for. Breakfast in the courtyard was something to look forward to every morning. Highly recommend Montecarmo 12 as a base for exploring Lisbon!
