About this house rental

Nestled in Columbus, this charming house for $85 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Summary: This cozy cottage has preserved its historic character, while also providing all the comforts of a modern home! Minutes to I-185, which runs directly into Fort Moore and only 15 minutes from downtown, this house is centrally located to all things Columbus/Fort Moore. Whether you want to relax on the couch and watch TV, cook a meal, or just crash on one of our memory foam mattresses, this house is the perfect retreat for long-term and short-term stays. The Space: This is a beautiful historic home that has been updated. You will love the original hardwood floors that give the house its historic character, but you will also enjoy the modern comforts since both the bathroom and kitchen have been redone very nicely. One bedroom has a king bed. One is a queen. The last room is a semi-private space with no door, but does offer privacy with a curtain. This room has a double bed. The living room has a sofa bed to provide additional sleeping space. Guest Access: The house has a digital combo lock pad. We will provide you with the code upon check-in. The Neighborhood: This is a very quiet and safe residential neighborhood. I actually live in a separate unit in the back, so I can personally vouch that it is a great neighborhood! Getting Around: There is no public transportation in the neighborhood, so you will need to drive or plan to take cab/Uber. Other Things to Note: We require a signed rental agreement and for guest to be 25 years of age to book. We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. In the event that a security deposit is collected, we will retain all or part of the security deposit to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning due to pets. Interaction with Guests: I live in the unit in the back. It is completely separate from the house you are renting, so you could easily go your entire stay without seeing me, but if you ever need anything, I am right there!

This is a cute and cozy vintage home. It was clean and had plenty of kitchen supplies. We were in Columbus for the State swim meet so the large Jacuzzi tub was great for our swimmer to soak sore muscles. The fenced backyard was perfect for our 3 dogs. Quiet neighborhood. We had just a couple minor suggestions. Think about putting some hooks on the bathroom door for robes or towels and adding blinds on all bedroom windows. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home!

My family was moved to this home after issues with another home rented from this host. The home is in need of some TLC. The listing was noted as three bedrooms, but has been updated to show two with a sleeping room (a windowed porch) off the living room (separated with curtain). The AC didn't work during our stay. I notified the host of this but no response or fix came. The neighborhood is nice and well located in town.

The property was local to everything and very well maintained. My family and I would stay at this property against for sure. The host(s) were very helpful and they were willing to help out my family and I in our time of transition. It was a rough transition, but they were there and had our backs. From one veteran to another, thank you Battle. You took a lot of pressure off of us and your property really helped us. Thank you.

A few minor differences in decor items from photos. Communication was good, nited a few minor issues at checkout. Overall a good experience given the short notice of our situation. We stayed at property for ~30 days.

I will start off with a few positive comments. The location of the house is prime and in a quiet, quaint, and safe neighborhood directly across the street from a beautiful park. The house manager was very helpful and quick to respond to our concerns. Now for the reality of our experience. Although the house contained character, it showed its age. The owners obviously have not kept up with regular maintenance required in an older home. The kitchen cabinet doors and drawers were loose and off their tracks. The paint throughout was pealing. There were multiple bug traps that contained many dead bugs to welcome us. The back door did not seal properly, allowing insects to easily enter the kitchen, hence all the bug traps. Now let's talk about the bed in the master bedroom. The door knob was missing and the matress had a plastic cover that felt and sounded like we were sleeping on a diaper. This made sleeping extremely difficult, therefore we decided to remove it and to our surprise and disgust, the mattress contained two large blood stains. Fortunately, we had two other beds to sleep on. I'm sure the majority of guests in this home are family members of those serving in the military. The families visiting then should expect accommodations that are well maintained and sanitary.

This is my first bad review of a VRBO property in the 10+ years I have been renting VRBO properties. I'm looking for properties that are homey, clean and have comfortable beds. The book of information in the home said, Com on in, y'all! Make yourself at home, but the home was not homey. Upon entering the home I thought I had entered a guys college rental home filled with Goodwill furniture. The wood floor, refrigerator and kitchen were clean but the bathroom had mold on the shower curtain, walls and ceiling. The carpet in the LR had popcorn kernals and long blond hairs in it so I'm not sure it was vacuumed before I came. The 2 lamps in the LR had burned out bulbs and the floodlight in the back was burned out. Not very conducive for entering after dark. The bedspreads were also dirty. We stayed in the front room off the LR and it had a white bedspread with a yellow spot in the middle. This house needs upgrading and more staging to be a home away from home. The house sleeps six, but there is only sitting for 3 in the LR. Adding a couple chairs or another love seat would help. There is a bar at the end of the kitchen, but no bar stools. One of the bedside tables is peeling. One of the beds is very close to the floor which would make it hard for an older person to get out of. The bathtub was also difficult to get in and even though it is a whirlpool tub, only 1 1/2 of the jets worked. The mirror is hung so high in the bathroom that I could only see from the bridge of my nose up. The floor in the front bedroom is not finished leaving a tripping hazard. I highly recommend that the owners rent their own home and walk into it as though they are a renter and determine if this is a place they would stay. This property has great potential but needs some deep cleaning and some decorating to make it more welcoming and not so barren and unwelcoming. I won't be staying in this house again unless they make some major changes.

This place was exactly what we were looking for! Plenty of linens, dishes, and room! Extremely conveniently located just off the freeway 185. Our only complaint, couldn’t find our Buckeye football game because apparently the locals rather watch Georgia and Alabama lol! Thank you for allowing us to stay!
