Welcome to our Charming 1 Bedroom Suite in a heritage manor, perfectly located in the heart of Fairfield, one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Victoria. This fantastic convenient location is within walking distance to all levels of amenities, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, tourist attractions, Cook Street Village, Beacon Hill Park, Downtown, Dallas Road waterfront, and public transit. Whether it's for short or long stays, this fully furnished suite offers the comfort of a home away from home. SPACE: This efficient 1 bedroom suite is located on the top floor of our building. When you step inside the suite, you will be delighted to see a cute, well-layout, cozy, and bright character suite that exudes an air of old-world charm. The suite is flooded with tones of natural light from large west-facing windows. From the living windows, you will see our front courtyard below. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you will need to prepare your yummy meals. Relax and enjoy your favourite shows on the Smart 50” TV in the living room. The bedroom is furnished with a medium-firm pillow-top queen-size bed with quality linens. This space is ideal for a couple but can accommodate up to 4 with the sectional queen sofabed. For those who are seeking to work remotely, we have a workstation, with free, fast, and stable internet with 1000 Mbps. SUITE AMENITIES: • Medium firm pillow-top queen-size bed • Sectional queen sofa bed • 50” Smart TV with free Netflix • Free fast internet with 1000 Mbps • Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, apartment-size fridge and freezer, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, French press, kettle, rice cooker, utensils, dishes, cookware. • Complimentary variety of cooking spices and a selection of tea and coffee • Desk • Hair dryer • Portable air conditioning machine • Free off-street parking at the back of the building for 1 vehicle per reservation on a first-come basis Free 24-hour street parking in front of the building and no permits are required. LOCATION: Our heritage manor is located in the heart of Fairfield, a charming historical neighbourhood with many century-old heritage homes on quiet tree-lined streets leading to the Salish Sea, the famous Dallas Road waterfront, Clover Point Park, and many beaches including picturesque Gonzales Bay, and dramatic views of the Olympic Mountains. Within minutes easy walk from us is Cook Street Village, a lively strip featuring laid-back eateries, cafés, sidewalk patios, grocery stores, and small local shops. The vibrant and popular Moss Street Market, a weekly summer outdoor market, is only a few blocks away. Many of the attractions are within walking distance from us, such as the Craigdarroch Castle, the Government House, Beacon Hill Park, and the Inner Harbour. For anyone who appreciates Victorian, Edwardian, and Craftsman homes, or who wants a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Downtown, look no further than our unique neighbourhood. The proximity to Downtown, the waterfront, parks, attractions, amenities, public transit, and bike routes make our property a perfect place to live, work and visit. Many of our guests described our location as great or perfect. We are about: • 5 min walk to Cook Street Village • 10 min walk to Beacon Hill Park • 15 min walk to Downtown Victoria, Inner Harbour, Dallas Road waterfront, Government House, Craigdarroch Castle, and many other attractions • 20 min walk to the Black Ball (US) Ferry Terminal • 20 min direct bus to UVic and Camosun College • 7 min by car or 15 min by direct bus to Royal Jubilee hospital • 30-40 min by car or 1 hour by bus from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal • 30-40 min by car or 1 hr by bus from Victoria International Airport HISTORY: This large three-level Craftsman, chalet style, heritage manor was designed by the famous Canadian architect, Samuel Maclure, in 1912 for a prominent local businessman who was well-known for his interest in the prohibition movement and church and was president of the YMCA. The building has since been converted into seven self-contained suites over two decades ago. The suites, all unique from each other, ranging from studio to 1-bedroom suites, all have their own kitchen and bathroom. The manor, known as Trutch Manor Suites, had for many years been Victoria's popular bed and breakfast. The manor is now renamed “Larkspur Manor Suites” to pay homage to the beautiful Victoria, City of Gardens. Larkspur is an old-fashion flower that comes in a variety of shades, with beautiful meanings, most commonly used to symbolize love, affection, strong attachment, happiness, and a pure heart. We believe Larkspur beautifully represents our manor in welcoming people from all shades to have a wonderful, happy experience, whether they are here for a special occasion, holiday making, or to reconnect with loved ones and families. As the new owner with years of hospitality experience hosting travelers, business professionals, and international students from all over the world, and as a super host, and premiere host, I am excited and pleased to continue offering this wonderful manor as your home away from home while you are visiting or working in Victoria. THINGS TO NOTE: Before you book, please read the details of this listing to make sure that the suite, our location, and the amenities offered are suitable for you and your party. This suite is on the second floor (the top floor) of the building. There are stairs to the building and to the suite, (sorry no elevator), and it is not wheelchair accessible. As such, it will be challenging for those with mobility difficulties. There are some creaks and squeaks on the floor mainly in the hallway and stairs which are to be expected from this vintage of building. Laundry is at the building in our basement and is coin-operated. You will need 2 loonies (2 $1 coins) each to wash and dry. Laundry is between 9 am - 8 pm. Our posted rate is for double occupancy. Additional charge applies after 2 people. Please check the listing. If you are two travelers and prefer to have separate sleeping arrangements, please let us know in advance, we are happy to prepare extra bedding for you for an additional fee of $50/stay to cover costs for additional off-site professional laundry services and for additional housekeeping services. Our 4-year-old dog, Cosmo, a medium-sized Labradoodle, stays with me at the property. You may see him play outside in the courtyard. If you are nervous around dogs, please let me know and I will limit his presence outside. We have motion sensor security cameras on the outside of our building which stay on during your stay. One at the main entrance near the door outside, one on the side of the building above the gate, one near the fire escape near Unit 7, and one on the garage in our parking lot. Pleasant accommodations in quiet residential neighbourhood with easy walking access to many local attractions (Cook Street village, Beacon Hill Park, Dallas Road, downtown, and more). Owner is responsive to additional requests - e.g. we needed a secure place to keep rented bikes overnight, and were given access to locked storage.

Lovely and comfortable. Peaceful surroundings. Spotlessly clean and inviting. We appreciated the nice touches of tea, spices, little cookies and chocolate. Holly welcomed us and treated us like family.

My husband and I had a wonderful four-day stay in the top floor of this cute little house. Everything was spotless. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were super comfy. It’s located in a lovely neighbourhood close to downtown. Holly was quick to respond to any email. I would highly recommend staying here, and we will certainly be back.

The suite is exactly as advertised. Located on a very quiet street.
All you hear are the birds! Clean, well stocked, and lots of little extras provided to get you through your stay. The bed was super comfortable. Ingenious adaptation to make the bath/shower more functional. Still a little short for my husband but to be expected in a heritage home with slanted ceilings. Extremely walkable location! We walked to Cook Street Village (coffee, groceries, wine stores, shopping), the ocean, Beacon Hill Park, The Government House, and downtown to name a few. We will definitely look to stay here again on our next trip to Victoria.

The check in process and instructions were easy and detailed. Communication with the owner was good and responses were quick. The suite was as advertised. It was clean and had all the staples to make the stay better. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint property.

This space was perfect for two adults and one toddler. You will find everything you need there for your stay.

Stayed for 3 nights and loved this accommodation. The suite is on the top floor and has everything you need for your visit. As well, the location is excellent as it is only a 5 minute walk to Cook St Village and a 15 min walk to Beacon Hill Park / Seaside. Holly was a great host.

The perfect little one bedroom spot close to downtown. Super clean with a kitchen that has everything you might need. Host was so nice and checked in to see if we had everything we needed. Shower on gable wall was a little tricky for a taller person but not a show stopper. Would stay again and again!
