What a great little hotel. Not a ritz Carlton type but an amazing hotel, with the best customer service. Stayed in 308 with my wife and kids, balcony room with direct view of ocean. Beach right across the street, restaurants and snacks, coffee, breakfast and lunch right next to you so you can do everything right there or go ten minutes to downtown pismo if you want a change up. They have free breakfast each day on the roof top with coffee and tea and the best views and then free pie and ice cream each night at seven in the lobby. They have bikes, beach towels, chairs and beach toys to use for the day and I couldn’t say enough good things. Free parking. Refrigerator, microwave, kettle all in the room. Stairs no elevator literally only negative

Great spot…friendly staff….breakfast was very nice and the roof top deck a big plus….My only issue was the WiFi was spotty….I had to go to the lobby to connect and back in my room (on the third floor) it was spotty at best….but we plan to return…..

It was excellent , perfect location ! Very good croissant and cappuccinos in the morning, I love that all amenities including breakfast, pie and cream in the lobby each night , bikes and beach chairs are included in the price . Loved the rainfall shower head . My only complaint was the thin curtains and no blinds on the front window which let in light from the very bright light in the hall outside the room, I had to hang a blanket over the window so I could sleep . Staff was very friendly .

This hotel is a MUST stay! Unique rooms and AMAZING views and location! The free dessert and breakfast is AMAZING! The only reason I didn’t give full stars was because the “jacuzzi” didn’t work and that was the reason we got the room. Also the Queen bed was a full and there was a twin bed in the room.

All was good despite terrible rain and flooding that weekend. Beware the breakfast is not a real breakfast, but rather light snacks with coffee / tea and some fruits.

The Inn at Avila was a fantastic value for the price. Sure, the building is a little old, but you can't beat the location across the street from one of California's most picturesque beaches. The hotel includes parking and complementary bikes, which you can enjoy at nearby trails.

The beds were terrible! And the lights outside illuminated our room all night. It was impossible to sleep. The location is great but we will never stay here again.

The decoration is beautiful. So original, California chic. Well chosen material: wood/stone/tiles; new with the feeling of antique. Clean. Nice artwork, sculptures, mural decor make you feel more like in a home not in an hotel. Of course we were on the front street suite with porch/wiew on the ocean, sunset etc. You can walk to the restaurants, shops etc.. Bonus desert with pies/ice cream from 7-8 PM . Staff super nice and helpful. Wéll be back

The Inn is cute although a little dated. The bed was comfortable and the view from our room was wonderful. The pie in the evening was a nice touch. The location is awesome!

We enjoyed breakfast on the sun roof. Having the beach across the street was wonderful. Staff was always ready to fix our problem. What we did not like was spending the first night in room 214. The above head shower did not warm up. Our above neighbors were stomping around and the second day our shower flooded the room. Staff relocated us to room 210 which was much nicer. They wanted to move us back in 214 for the 3rd night but we did not want to move again. Staff was understanding and in room 210 we stayed for the remainder of the time.

Beautiful and cool property (especially the rooftop). Sunday's service for breakfast was super friendly. Love the views, plants through out, and the comfort and amenities of the room. Again, Loved this place - here are just some minor issues to state ;) Front desk was not available most of the time. They also ran out of bottled water. The filtered water tasted aweful, and there were no Keurig cups in the kitchen area. We loved the Pie & ice cream treats (great and friendly service!)

We were heading home from Northern California and to beat hurricane Hilary, we stopped at Avila Inn. What a great decision! This place is so cool and the breakfast on the rooftop (with ocean view) was amazing. We will be back!

Fireplace wouldn’t turn off and made the room very hot. We didn’t notice until our last night that it was on! We were wondering why our room was so hot! Staff notified but unable to fix the problem. The shower pressure was very weak because it wouldn’t switch from bath to shower completely…most of the water pressure stayed in bath mode. Although these two problem persisted, the hotel itself is perfectly situated and they provide little touches (ie. Water bottles, pie nights, breakfast on their patio) make it worthwhile!

We had an enjoyable time at this property and I highly recommend it. Pros: location to the beach, room was clean, staff was attentive, small perks such as beach chairs, breakfast on the sun deck, pie at night, ice cream, popsicles and coffee available 24/7. Cons: decor throughout the hotel including the rooms is outdated, our room was very dark with only 2 small windows, dark decor and dim lighting. All things considered, I will visit again.

This is absolutely the best Hotel in Avila. You can’t beat the location across the street from the beach and the gorgeous views from the roof top deck. The staff is very friendly and the amenities are great. Quiche, croissants, and an espresso bar every morning, pie and ice cream in the evening, water bottles, towels, beach chairs, bikes to ride on the Bob Jones trail, popcorn, popsicles. What more can you want?
