Misty Mountain is a completely custom built 3200 sq. ft. vacation home that's been designed and constructed with your vacation enjoyment in mind! Located in the highly popular Gilded Mountain subdivision with its great proximity to so many local fun things to do, you'll love everything about the property. Just across the street you'll even have access to the community clubhouse that boasts an outdoor heated pool open all year, 2 hot tubs, a sauna, mini bar area, pool table, pac-man game table, poker table and treadmills! You won't find these amenities anywhere else in the area, especially just across the street! You'll be surrounded by wonderful ATV/snowmobile trails, close proximity to skiing at Terry Peak (just a 5 minute drive to the main Stewart Lodge) and a short 15 minute taxi ride into Deadwood! Trail #5 snowmobile trail is right across the highway from the subdivision as well. Spearfish Canyon is also just 5-10 minutes away with is great fishing, hiking, and waterfall attractions! Some of the best features of the location are you'll have fully paved roads, hi-speed internet, parking in the driveway and a 2 stall garage, which is unique and hard to find in the Gilded Mountain Subdivision! Bring your licensed UTVs/ATVs and ride right from the property over to the main trail system towards Rochford. The 3-level lodge has an open concept with the well stocked kitchen, living, and dining room that seamlessly come together with a large vaulted ceiling with floor-ceiling windows in the living area! There's comfortable seating in the main living room, a large TV and fireplace. The Main level living area leads out to wrap-around covered deck with a private forest view. There's a gas grill on the deck as well for those days enjoying a day grilling with your family and friends! The master bedroom is also on the main level, making it very convenient for those who don't do stairs. Upstairs you'll find an open loft with built-in bunk beds, and 2 more bedrooms with 2 full private bathrooms. The lower level is complete with a large family room and TV for watching movies, and walk-out to the covered patio that includes a private hot tub! This is a beautiful home, nicely decorated and furnished. It is set up nicely for families as there are built in bunks in the bedrooms. Since it is a new build, there are still some things that need to be worked out and improved upon, but that will come. The heat circulation was not good, it was way to warm in the upstairs rooms, not bad on the main floor and down right chilly in the basement. There is a large ceiling fan in the loft area that did not work, which maybe would have helped. However we could not get it to work. We contacted the host and they brought new batteries which did not help. I am sure they will get this figured out in the future. The large hot tub was great! Nice place, I would recommend.

House was okay. The lack of closets for coats at the front door or clothes in the rooms was annoying. The dishwasher is not secured to the counter top making it hard to shut the door and it’s just shoddy craftsmanship. Many of the towel holders are loose and look sloppy. The upstairs MB vanity had two broken drawers and missing handles. There was not enough toilet paper, napkins, or paper towels. It sleeps 18, there should be more paper products. And nicer TP is always appreciated by people paying good money to stay a night. Also since that house holds so many people another refrigerator or two would be nice. A big one in the garage and a mini at the wet bar in the basement would be nice. Keeping food and drinks on the deck wasn’t ideal. Speaking of the deck- it needs lights. How are you supposed to hang out out there after dark when there is only one light next to the door? The basement also could use some supplemental heat. Overall it was an okay place but we have been renting cabins in the hills for 12 years, in comparison to the others we have stayed at these are the things we weren’t impressed with. Some are easy fixes, like more, better TP ;), and others are more long term goals and improvements but it was a great place for entertaining the crew and the views are great.

This was a great place to stay for a long girls weekend. The only downside was our hot tub did not work. We did end up using the lodge pool and hot tub.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay in Gilded Mountain subdivision and Misty Mountain! We had 5 couples and 3 individuals stay and fit comfortable, as well as plenty room to hang out eat, drink and enjoy the views, the community pool and hot tubs! The beds were comfortable and deck was great for morning coffee or mimosas! Plenty of room left over if we had brought the kids as well with the built in bunk beds. Next time!
