The apartment was really quaint and full of character. The facilities were great and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
No negatives, as long as any booker understands the location is fairly isolated from amenities, requiring a 25 minute walk along the main road to Varenna . No problem for us as we enjoy a walk but something to bear in mind for others maybe

The location in Fiumelatte just a 15 min walk to Varenna main Piazza was fabulous. An authentic village feel which was wonderful & right across the road from a non-tourist beach
The property has a VERY steep stone staircase to the bedrooms. We are fit travellers in our 60’s but over 5 nights it was a drag. We left luggage in the living space. The apartment would be more suited perhaps to a young couple - definitely not a family with young children.
It also lacked items I think are an expectation. No dishwashing detergent - no tea bags or pods for the coffee machine & no ice cube trays in fridge. These are small oversites but would make a big difference. There wasan ootion after booking to have a shopping service but as a regular traveller & accommodation host, I feel these are basic expectations.

it as ok. the over all aesthetic of the property was lovely with the design like in the photos on the listing and the response back from staff was quick and helpful
there were sadly more things that were not great with the property. to list it as the building is in varenna (30min walk) when it was actually in fiumelatte - the town next to it as it was on the boarder of fiumelatte to varenna. I had two people in my group that was 58 - 60 years old - they couldnt keep up - the fiumelatte station is a 5 munite walk from the booking but its an abandoned station and you have to walk down about 150 steep steps to get down from that station to the booking they were unable to carry there luggage down. 1 person has IBS and they only gave 1 and a half rolls of toilet paper -had to go out and purchase the rolls. It then goes onto more of the smaller things. like they provide tea bags no milk or long life milk. the beds were hard. i slept in the two single bed room the bottom bed that pulls out constantly moves and as the placement of the room you dont have any acess to natural light there is also no side light only to use the main light which wakes eveyone up in the night
