The welcome we received from the owner and the thoughful provisions which had been provided including the delicious slice of cake made for a lovely start to our stay in Yorkshire! The view was awesome too! The accomodation was compact clean comfortable and cosy and perfect for us as we were mainly with friends but needed somewhere to rest our heads! The bedroom was delightful with views of the courtyard and a feeling of space all of which allowed for restful and peaceful nights.
We were very happy with everything that was provided as it suited our stay very well.

The setting for this little cottage, part of the farm attached to the ruined castle, couldn’t be better, a short drive to York, Castle Howard and a host of other places, local pubs within walking distance, village shop round the corner, all dog friendly, and some of the best nights sleep we’ve had in ages, made our stay here a truly memorable one, topped off by delightful hosts, with their own adorable dog, who not not gave us a tour of the castle, but had a loaf of scrumptious homemade lemon drizzle cake waiting for us on arrival, which, along with the pint of milk in the fridge, meant we got to have tea and cake after a long drive on the patio, admiring the view… brilliant way to start your stay! Oh, and did I mention the castle 🤷🏼♂️🤣

Fabulous place. Very comfortable, gorgeous grounds surrounding the property. Very attentive and welcoming owners. The cake & milk was a lovely touch! Highly recommend.
