Beautifully appointed - very comfy beds- exceptional location for those interested in staying locally (ie walking to great restaurants, pubs, walks, traditional high street etc.)
If you want to eat at home, the kitchen is unusually well appointed for a holiday property.
The property was VERY clean
Even though there was no parking, we parked up in the local car park (paid each day on an APP) and walked everywhere (or took the train - Exeter was 15 mins away)
Scary staircase - obviously original to the building but treacherous (polished original oak narrow treads and twists) … I use a walking stick and would have appreciated a heads-up that the stairs would be challenging (so I might make an informed choice when choosing accommodation).
The same applies to door height. My 6’2” husband now has a large cut on his head … until you’re used to the property (we stayed a week and by day 2 he was fine! but initially EVERY doorway was a challenge…. Including the entrance to the ground floor)
The location means that you’re very close to (great) pubs so the Friday and Saturday nights of our stay were both VERY noisy until 11pm / single glazed (period) windows did nothing to help … NB both bedrooms face the street

The last time we stayed the only criticism was the bathroom maybe someone else mentioned it because upon return there was a brand new walk in shower excellent!

Spacious apartment in a great location on the main street, above a shop (albeit an odd entrance shared with the shop), generally well equipped, including the kitchen.
Very noisy footsteps all day and night, and barking from apartment above. No toiletries. No communication after booking. We may have been unlucky but there was building work going out the back too, so had people walking up stand down the metal stairs at the back carrying things all day every day. The toilet in the bathroom didn't work and wasn't fixed during the 4-day stay. A spacious apartment in a good location, let down by poor management and no or poor communication between booking and arrival, basic maintenance issues and if we feels should have been told there was work going on above our heads and compensated accordingly.
