A very comfortable apartment with a south facing shaded balcony overlooking the (small) River Brede. A couple of chairs on the balcony for contemplating the river life. The apartment is one of several in a converted boathouse, with dedicated parking – very important if you come by car to Rye as the small town is composed of old narrow cobbled streets and parking is at a premium.
In fact the apartment is perfectly located on the edge of the town so it is easy to get to, and a very easy walk anywhere into the absolutely delightful small town of Rye – full of history with an abundance of eateries of all levels and many antique shops. A short drive or longish walk to the Rye Harbour Wildlife Reserve. A twenty minute (beautiful) drive to the must-see Great Dixter House and Garden.
A single living room/kitchen arrangement facing the river with a glazed wall, comfortable furniture, dining table and so forth. TV of course, and wifi.
A short staircase leads down to the bathroom and bedroom. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space for clothes in cupboards and a chest of drawers.
The host is wonderfully communicative, and we received a very detailed list of directions and information before our arrival. We also contacted her with minor queries and she was immediately responsive.
There was a bottle of fizz to greet us!
I cannot recommend this property highly enough for its location and comfort. It is perfect for anyone visiting this extraordinary town.

The location is perfect, looking over the tidal river & fields. It’s very quiet & only a very short stroll along an unmade up road & up into Rye town. Parking space at rear of flat. Over bath shower was decent. Sofa was comfortable. Sherry the housekeeper was lovely.
No dishwasher. A very tightly fitted bedroom with built in wardrobes taking up one whole wall so you had less than 12” to squeeze around the bed, though I presume this was probably a home at some point, hence the abundance of wardrobe storage space.
Bed was a bit hard & pillows were uncomfortably flat or too high. A bit dated.

We found the property well equipped for our needs & the bottle of Prosecco on arrival was much appreciated. We were lucky enough to have great weather, so really enjoyed the peacefulness of the location & the wonderful views.
We have to agree with previous reviews regarding the lounge curtain rail & ease of movement around the bed.

Location, view from balcony and short walk to town
Bed position . No room between foot of bed and wardrobe. Wi-fi did not work. Only BBC and Youtube on television
