Located in Wilmington, this attractive house for $258 per night is a great choice for your next break. Centrally located in Wilmington on the picturesque Masonboro Sound. Enjoy a couple of day excursions, just a short 15 minute drive to Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach and Downtown Wilmington. Play in the sand and surf at Wrightsville Beach next to the Johnnie Mercers pier which offers a full breakfast, lunch and dessert menu. Or travel to Carolina Beach near the boardwalk next to a variety of restaurants, surf shops and boardwalk. Try our local favorite Britts donuts, open seasonally. Or head to Historic Downtown Wilmington for a delicious lunch on the waterfront and watch the boats cruise by, then take a stroll to all the gift and specialty shops . Come back to relax or entertain at the Sound House. There's plenty of space inside and out for guest to enjoy quiet time or playing games. There's several lounging areas on the wraparound porch, a deck with table and chairs, a firepit with chairs or whip up a meal inside and watch a movie. Features of the Home and land: Meticulously restored to it's original beauty and charm. Arrogantly Shabby is a low country sound house with a huge wrap around porch. 3 bedrooms open to the porch with split Dutch door to capture the breeze off the sound. The 4th bedroom opens to it's own deck. The home is surrounded by picturesque moss covered Live Oak trees and mature Palm trees that were added for a festive coastal feel. Interior walls and ceilings were restored to bring back the luster of the original wood. Each room is decorated with treasures of the sound with bohemian nautical themes. Linens included for convenience and comfort. 2 full Bathrooms off the bedrooms and living space and a large outdoor shower. Restored antique clawfoot ceramic tub and pedestal sink. 2nd Bath features a new walk in shower with stain glass window and reclaimed tin walls. Outdoor shower is perfect after a day at the beach! The kitchen well equipped with new stainless steel appliances and dishes and a restored vintage Farm sink. The Living Room features a restored fireplace and French doors on both ends for a wonderful breeze. Daybeds and Rocking chairs are on the large screened porch to relax with a book or beverage and enjoy the amazing breeze and relaxing private views. Enclosed Dining Space in Sunroom. Outdoor space galore! Back deck for gathering around the table for meals or drinks. Firepit with Adirondack chairs. Covered grilling area. Oyster Roast station. 2 Parking areas with railroad ties and an oyster shell bed. Extensive landscaping. Tons of space! Just minutes away from Carolina and Wrightsville beaches as well the public boat landing on Trails End Rd.

We had the best time! The owner is the nicest guy and the house was amazing! We plan on making it our annual vacation stay!!! Highly recommend !!!!

The place was as advertised. It had plenty of room for our family to spread out and enjoy the property. Even though we did not utilize the outdoor area, it is spacious and great for cooking out or relaxing outside. The service and follow up from the owner was better than imagined. I would stay in the house again on any trips to Wilminton.

Our family of 8 stayed here for a full week and loved the coziness of this house. The wrap-around porch was a great spot to read, talk, and play music. We were very impressed with the preservation of this very cool, old house. The modern updates of AC, nice appliances, and smart tv were really nice too. The beach was a 15-20 min drive but it didn’t feel long. The outside shower was a huge help too (especially for a big, sandy group). Loved it. Plan to return!

This property exceeded my expectations for location and surroundings (I have been at UNCW since 2016, but commuting from Hatteras, NC). But the house blew us all away! It is a perfect place to gather and be with people you love to spend time with. The wrap around porch was one of a kind and the house was spacious for our group of eight, feeling like we stepped back in time with the incredible decor. The clawfoot tub reminded us all of our childhood home! The recent restorations add a nice touch of convenience to the old, low style home. The surrounding area is quiet and perfect habitat for wildlife! We observed a number of bird species just in the three days we were here - definitely an oasis in an area that is being quickly developed without paying mind to the creatures next door. Hosts were super and helpful, very easy to communicate with. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away and relax in a gorgeous space and a comfortable house! The perfect place to getaway for the weekend… Close to the beach and the sound, hiking trails, delicious food… A quiet, relaxing retreat with wraparound porches and plenty of places to perch with a good book. Charming cottage with a comfortable, homey feel. Great communication with the hosts. Highly recommend!
