This was our tenth villa holiday in the Montgo slopes area. We had a nice warm welcome from Jackie who introduced us to the spacious, clean and well-equipped villa with a beautifully maintained pool and boasting fabulous views. The beds were comfy and there was good Wi-Fi signal throughout - having several streaming services was great and the large fridge freezer was a real asset. A second lounge area was a plus. The covered outside kitchen area was useful with a large drinks fridge and sink which we used daily.
The slight niggles we had upon arrival were swiftly dealt with by Javea Holiday Rentals.
The room described and pictured as a twin room actually had a super-king bed and a single bed in it. It is down a set of steep stairs under the main lounge area although there is no reference to the location on the website - consequentially we had to re-arrange occupation of the rooms we had previously planned to use as it was unsuitable for our two young grandsons.
Some things felt a bit tired. For example, the outside kitchen table and chairs look great in the photos but the seats were hard and the paint was peeling which stuck to our skin - we chose not to sit at it in the end; the parasol bases were very worn and we were unable to remove or adjust the umbrellas; some of the lounge cushions were split; the filtered water tap trickles; the light in the middle oven did not work; the extraction hood was ineffective and we used the kitchen a lot because of the ban on barbecue use.
It would be useful if the villa’s information book was updated and more detailed - for example: to include the correct Wi-Fi network which must have changed since the detail in the book; what the very many switches throughout the villa control; whether the water is OK to drink; and use of the fabric roller blinds. Some of the remote controls had flat batteries (e.g. the gate controller and the lower bedroom shutter blind) and there were no spares.
