Windswept Cottage is one of the last remaining cottages from the “Atlantis of the Cape”, Billingsgate Island. This 4-bedroom cottage sits at the top of the stairway entrance to Campground Beach in Eastham. Stay in this historic Campground Beach cottage that has everything you need to make memories of a lifetime on Cape Cod. *Sat-Sat in July & Aug. I respect the autonomy of my guests but can be reached by text, call, email, Facetime, smoke signal, or carrier pigeon at any time Located at the end of a road just before dropping into the bay waters. A digital guide with all your check in information is provided with confirmed booking By 1850, Billingsgate Island had 30 homes, a lighthouse, and even a baseball team! Storms and erosion began to eat away at the island which led to most of its residents departing for the mainland. Many homes were cut into pieces and floated across the bay where they were reassembled after arriving on shore. Windswept cottage is one of the last remaining homes floated over from Billingsgate Island in 1905. This 4-bedroom/1-bath cottage has three full beds and three twin beds. The breeze directly off the bay keeps the cottage very cool but ac window units are available in the bedrooms for your sleeping comfort. The kitchen has a gas stove, microwave, fridge, and all the modern conveniences for cooking meals, including a grill out on the deck with views of the bay. A large living space with a steaming Roku tv and a dining table for 6 rounds out this comfortable home. There is no washer and dryer but a perfectly working clothesline for hanging those suits out to dry after spending all day on the beach in them. Highlights: - A custom, state-of-the-art house manual with recommendations is provided with each stay - 3 Full beds/3 Twin Beds - Linens and towels provided - AC window units in the bedrooms - Cottage is located at the top of the stairs that lead to Campground Beach (Private beach area for residents and guests of the homes here) - centrally located in Eastham near the National Seashore, Arnold’s, bike rentals, and more! - Gas grill & patio furniture (including outdoor dining table) - Beach chairs, toys, and Wave skimmers available - Outside shower - WiFi throughout - Parking for 2 cars in private sandy drive - NO pets - We have many pet friendly choices for you but this is not one of them.
