It was a really nice place to stay. Our host Francesca was really nice and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Spacious room with bathroom on the same level. Great location near the main Piazza. The terrace was the highlight where Francesca served us breakfast.

We were lucky to have the terrace to ourselves as the view was the main thing that attracted us there. It was quiet and we slept well. Francesca seemed like an interesting person and happy to talk.
There was a general lack of attention to small but important details, like having a rug to step onto after showering (although we found rugs in our room and used those) or softer lights in the room (the lampshades definitely need to be changed).

The view from the communal terrace is wonderful. The owner and her son are very responsive, helpful and friendly. The location of the property in the old town is great and Erice is very attractive.
Our ground floor rooms (bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom) were very damp when we arrived. The owner's son said straight out the rooms were damp and explained this was because the rooms are built on the rock. He put a dehumidifier on to dry it but the rooms remained damp, the dehumidifier was very noisy and we had a very unpleasant sleepless night as the bedroom smelt of mildew and the bedding felt damp.
The next day the owner advised us to keep all the windows open as it was windy. This meant we lost privacy but it did dry the rooms and the damp smell went away so our second night was better. Nevertheless the rooms have low ceilings and few windows and there's a feeling of being underground.
We looked into the other bedrooms (numbers 1-3) which are at the top of the house and they looked much better.
