Vacation ruined by dystopian outsourcing hell and rat feces on bed (adding pics function blocked)
Big Bear Vacations poorly manages this place- it is a Casago franchise. For property owners just Google the Casago-Vacasa 2025 lawsuit (https://www.facebook.com/groups/vacasahomeownersbeware/ ). We arrived and could not get onto the property because of snow buildup. No one came to help for 5 hours (check in at 4 pm, someone who spoke no English came at 9 pm). Also RAT POOP on the bed, no cover on the bed comforter, the place looked nothing like the photos. Their offshore “customer service” had no sense of what is actually happening on the ground since they are in India(?) and were following an absurd script. They even had the nerve to tell me someone was there already helping us clear the snow but we were standing there and no one was there. We asked about getting a shovel to do it ourselves. They said there was a shovel in the house —the house that we could not get into because of the snow. They said look in the garage. But then I asked where the key was (as it was a detached garage) and they backtracked saying the garage was not part of the rental. It was 21 F/-6 C and dark. Hours passed. I was told management would call. Silence. Given no real alternative we finally scrambled our way through the deep snow to the door. The house was freezing. Still never got a call from management and maintenance never arrived despite maybe ~15 calls and 70 text messages. When we got in and were just wanted to sleep we found RAT FECES on the bed and couch. The India based call center was not helpful in offering us a solution. They kept saying “we are documenting this.” It was 10 pm so we decided to leave and try to find another place. Only after telling them this, and after we made another expensive hotel booking, did they offer another place. We got there (25 min drive away in different city) at 11 pm after 7 hours fighting and being gaslit by their offshore support. Days later still no apology, call from management.
