What a find! Loved this hostel with its friendly staff, delicious wonton soup and amazing location (couldn't be closer to the West Gate if you tried!). The boss gave me great advice about how best to get around the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, especially varied hiking routes. The rooftop was a nice place to have a beer and spent lovely evenings in the downstairs shared space. Thank you!
My electronic locker did keep jamming, but the staff came to fix this quickly for me. Breakfast opened at 7am, which was a little late when the West Gate entrance opens at 6am. However, this is really picky and there were other places to find breakfast if you were planning on going super early!

Location is key here! You need to be close to the park gate to get in early. No crowds, no queues, have the best experience for this special place.
Staff is great, will help you with planning and anything else you can ask them. Home cooked meal is nice, good selection of different foods and flavors while chatting to other guests. We got great tips on which route to take and spots to visit in the park from people that were there the dsys before

The location was amazing, 5min walk to the East entrance of Wulingyuan. They also let us check in early since they had a room available. The staff was all friendly.
It was unfortunate that such a beautiful place and new building was badly maintained. It was obvious that the staff didn’t really know how to clean and didn’t hire cleaners. The shared rooms with multiple people looked better, but our room had a lot of hair and dust bunnies on the floor, as well as scuff/dead bug marks on the wall. The bathroom and curtains had some black mould, and the shower drain had flies in it when we arrived. The AC worked well but looked neglected with mould or dirt visible. When we asked about the issues the staff was apologetic and came to spray insecticides and re-mop the floor. I asked if there was a vacuum I could use but they did not have that, which explained the hair and dust. This probably started as a very cute place but now has lost some of its charm due to the lack of proper maintenance. I understand it is a hostel but there was a lot I could’ve done myself in 30min if I was the owner - if the staff is reading this review: please get a vacuum, wash the curtains and mouldy bathroom with vinegar, and scrub the walls!
