About this house rental

Located in Hood Canal, this lovely house for $225 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The best happy hour is whatever hour you choose at "Preble Beach." Located on the south shore of Hood Canal about 15 minutes west of Belfair, ten minutes east of Alderbrook Resort & Spa and less than two miles from Twanoh State Park, where you can launch your boat and go for a hike (Discover Pass accessible, park launch fees are $8). Bring your floaties, kayaks and sunscreen, and kick back and enjoy the stunning sunsets. Preble Beach is a two bedroom, two bathroom open floor plan, waterfront rambler. The utility room has a washer and dryer, games and outdoor towels. Both bedrooms have large closets and dressers. One room has a single queen with an ensuite bath, the second bedroom has two twins. The second bath is large and is accessed via common space. The house sits up on a bulkhead, has a huge deck with unobstructed views, stair access down to the beach (shared with our fabulous neighbors), outdoor shower, swim float and parking for two vehicles. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker, toaster, water kettle and is stocked with pots and pans, plates, cups etc. Large dining table inside well as a breakfast bar with two stools, additional dining area outside on the deck. The Hood Canal beaches are a mixture of sand, rock, oysters and shells, so appropriate footwear is strongly encouraged - think Aqua Sox, Tevas and Keen water shoes. Guests are welcome to pick oysters and clams if they obtain an appropriate shellfish license. Every now and then warm red tides or algae blooms come through the canal causing a temporary hold on shellfish harvest, please plan accordingly and conform to local laws. Children - Preble Beach is NOT set up for toddlers. This house can be a huge safety hazard for curious little ones as the deck does NOT have rails or gates preventing your wee wanderers from finding their way down the concrete steps onto the beach/into the water, onto the neighbors property, or onto the busy road. The house is best enjoyed by immobile infants, or confident children who understand boundaries and potential risks. For similar reasons, this is why we do not accept pets at our house. We also do not provide any pack n' plays, cribs, high chairs etc.

Beautiful views. Could use a better cleaning. Comfortable beds. Some road noise. New owners since our last stay.

The wall of windows, viewing the Olympic Range was the big selling point! We watched the tides, the seals, loons and seagulls in the panoramic landscape. The home is clean and the older kitchen is well equipped. We wished for a bit more soft seating, just has one loveseat and two chairs was not enough. More reading light in main room was needed. The washer/dryer was great. A bit of road noise in bedrooms so pack your earplugs. This home is all about the view and canal!

Stayed here over July 4 holiday with my two kids. Simply fantastic! The deck and view are enchanting. Inside was fantastic. About 10 minute drive to Mason Lake where friends were staying. There's a gas station with beer/snacks about 3 minutes away, and a full Safeway about 15-20. It's also a few minutes from Twanoh State Park which has a very easy and very beautiful hike. Owners are communicative and kind!

Great location, close to so many wonderful areas. The view from the deck was amazing! We saw sea lions, jellyfish, crab, fish, and a variety of birds, including eagles. The sunsets were breathtaking. The house was comfortable, well stocked, and furnished comfortably. The views from the windows were great. Parking was super easy and made loading and unloading a breeze. Great place to stay!!!!

This house is right on the water and has a wonderful view of Hood Canal and the Olympic mountains (on a clear day). It is so relaxing and peaceful. We love watching the weather, the birds, otters, and seals. We love watching the tide go in and out, and playing games as a family. Twanoh State Park is minutes away, and Hunter Farms is 18 minutes away, where you can get Olympic Mountain ice cream. We drove to the Hama Hama Farm Store to pick up oysters and clams for dinner. So good! We hope to stay there again in the future.
