Heart of the Berkshires Motel

The beds and sheets were comfy and clean. Was a good enough place to shower and rest!

Air conditioning was a little outdated. Lots of windows and not thick enough curtains. My husband and I used blankets to help block out the lights at night.

I was looking for a less expensive room to stay one night. This room exceeded that by including a refrigerator, microwave, Keuig coffee maker, as well as a television. It would have been good for a multi-night stay, if I bought groceries. It had two double or queen size beds so could have slept four. The quilts looked thin but were fine for a summer visit. The room had a a thermostat control that looked a bit like the TV control.. The price was great for the area.. The location was convenient for me. This is as advertised -- a 1950s era hotel in one floor rooms in two structures. It was advertised as refurbished and that is apparent in that the interior looks better and slightly nicer than other 1950s era hotels Iwere I've stayed. It was easy to find but set back from the highway enough to be quiet in a quiet neighborhood.

The mattress is terrible. It didn't feel like a regular mattress, but more like a large bag filled with straw or hay, or an under-inflated air mattress. One would hardly sit on the edge of the bed without feeling like one could slip off. It was maybe okay for someone who sleeps on his or her back, but not comfortable for a side sleeper. The room had an electronic lock and I was e-miled and texted a code to open it, but then couldn't tell when inside if the door was locked, so used the manual choin.. I never saw any staff in person so just left in the morning well before the checkout time since I was given no other constructions about how to tell the staff I was gone.

Room was not clean, floors dirty, drinks under the bed, dust, shower had hair in it, landscaping not kept up, deteriorating building
