A genuine sanctuary in the Pines. From the moment you arrive, it feels as though everything has been thought of — beautifully considered, rather comfortable and wonderfully private.
The location is perfect for the beach, with everything one needs provided. Back at the house, the warm, welcoming pool is an absolute joy and makes it equally tempting to spend the day there, sitting idle.
The rooms are beautiful, simple and comfortable, with air conditioning and direct access from the pool area, giving you privacy and independence. Small details stand out, namely the amenities, including genuinely great coffee.
A plus: the host is warm, friendly and welcoming, while giving you all the space you want to enjoy the property as your own.
Fire Island Pines can be quite full-on, which makes having somewhere this peaceful to retreat to all the more special. It really does feel like your own little sanctuary in the middle of it all. I will defintely return.

My stay was perfect. This is a wonderfully simple way to enjoy all that Fire Island has to offer, meet new people and have a hassle-free stay. If you want privacy and quiet, you always have that in your room. If you want to be social and enjoy chatting with new people, including the host, the pool (nice and warm!) is perfect for that. Shout out to whomever does the gardening. It feels like you are in a well-tamed rainforest.
The rooms are (nice) hotel-level, and everything in them is clean and new ... sheets, towels, everything you need for the beach. You don't have to pack much and you don't have to think about it. I've stayed in a few different places on Fire Island, and this one is better. A great host, too.
I can't think of anything. The photos and description in the listing are accurate. So there are no surprises.∞

Staying with Michael was awesome— perfect blend of relaxing and social. The bed was super comfy, the pool temperature was just right, and everyone I met there was friendly.

The house was beautiful, and the pool was lovely. The property also had everything we needed to enjoy the beach, which made our stay convenient and comfortable. It was also fun getting to know the other guests during our stay.
There was construction taking place at the property during our stay, which affected the experience. The owner also has a significant number of rules and restrictions for guests. On one day, the pool was unavailable for approximately six hours while it was being cleaned.
During our stay, the owner also displayed a national flag that some guests may find concerning or uncomfortable.
I would provide additional details about our experience, but following my previous review, the owner sent me several text messages that I perceived as threatening. For that reason, I am limiting this review to the factual observations above.
